I remember somone posted not too long ago saying they had an video interview with D.T.? Is it possible that this could be shared?

16:9 looks squished when forced into a 4:3 aspect ratio. Since YouTube is expecting 4:3, it forces it into that "squished" aspect ratio.

Too bad YouTube (and for that matter most camcorders) won't automatically letterbox a 16:9 image.
