About 15 minutes to render. Not bad for a scene with 47 lights.

A friend on another forum has pointed out that I spelled "Downtown" incorrectly. :P I hate typos...

I'll have to post another copy of the image when I get home.

Well, thanks to some discussions on multiple forums I have re-rendered my latest Blade Runner image.
Things that changed:

1. Corrected the spelling of "Downtown" in the title.
2. Added rain objects
3. Increase background fog by about 10%
4. Added 40% interpolated Radiosity

Comments always welcome!

Here is the link to the Fan Film Teaser Trailer.

http://www.seansgallery.com/brmovie/BRTeaser.wmv (limited Bandwidth)
Please do not stream the video--right click and save as.
Unfortunately, it's only in Windows Media Format for the moment.

You can also download it from two servers at Lightwave Group 3D

I'm also talking with Blade Zone to get it posted here (sorry no URL yet)

Okay... For those of you without the latest version of Windows, here is an AVI version of the clip (requires DIVX codec):
http://www.seansgallery.com/brmovie/brteaser.avi (4.5 MB)

The original WMV format version is stil located in both locations.

I will also be working on a good quality MPEG and MOV formated versions.

Just wanted to let everyone know we're still at the fan film, and give a quick update.

Everything is going along very well so far, if a bit slowly. The recent hurricane didn't effect Tampa Bay, but plenty of the actors involved had to deal with it head on. My girlfriend and I were actually expecting to lose our house to Charlie.

Over the next few months you'll see promotional photography, character shots, set pieces and the like popping up online, once we get our websites live.

Thanks---------

Keep it up, Eli. I'm glad you didn't lose your house, and I hope all your crew and their families are OK.

We're shooting this on 70mm Fuji film, using Panavision and Arriflex cameras . . .

. . . . ok, I'm lying . . . or wishing . . . maybe both. :)

In all honesty we'll be using the 24p panasonic, or the 24p Xl2 from Canon, depending. Right now my setup is a canon xl-1s, but if the xl2 comes out in time my equipment lease has an option to upgrade to the newer camera, so I will.

Editing will be done on a dual proc G4, with final cut pro, after effects, and Treybor there does his CG in Lightwave (and another program I believe-trey?) then send me high res files to plug into the timeline.

The panasonic has a very nice audio option, in that it has xlr jacks right in the camera, and we've shot a few shorts with it, and the sound is always excellent, as long as you have a solid person working the boom.

So far, I've been happy with the results we've gotten from the 24p cameras. I really like the lens options you get with the xl-1 however, so I plan on snatching up the xl2 as soon as it comes out!

I hope that answers your questions :)
