Harrison Ford selfish

More recently, Ford seems to have mellowed and his comments were even used to open a special on Ridley Scott. Ford acknowledged that Scott was briliant, created a great film and that they mostly got on with each other - the differences being only small. This came after Scott had effectively offered an olive branch in his interview for the Edge Of... programme where he had acknowledged that in the early 80s he was not as aware of actors needs as he later learned to be. Supported by the nature of the advertising training where actors are not meant to have their own ideas. At this point, I would not be astonished if I heard that Ford would agree to do a short interview for the BR:SE. Probably less surprised in fact than hearing the BR:SE production was resuming! Unfortunately I have not heard these things.

Well, he's getting old and nostalgic.

Perhaps it's that Replicant he goes out with making him soppy. If she can convince him to be a father at 60, she can surely convince him to mend any old rifts with people. (Particularly A-List directors...)

Well, crisis of the middle age can do miracles. It's worse than puberty from what I've heard.

Maybe he finds the movie's subject too disturbing since after he made it? As far as I'm concerned, he's made only 2 movies in his career- Raiders and BR...then something strange happened to his personality, he became 2 dimensional-wooden - ?robotic?. I think it's significant that he was between marriges when these two movies were made. Maybe with the success and money, he would have bought himself an ideal android wife, had they had been available in 1983. Considering the adult love doll industry, Realdoll and Andy(female)-First Android, Honda Asimo, Sony Aibo,..... when this Ford/Flockheart thing crumbles- WILL FORD FINALLY GET HIS ANDROID?? If anyone can afford it, he can.

Hey, how about StarWars, American Grafitti, small appearance in Apocalypse Now and all those minor movies he made in 70s?

Harrisons last decent film was Witness in 1985..look at the classics before 1985: Blade Runner, Raiders of the Lost Ark, American Grafitti, The Empire Strikes Back, Apocalypse Now..after 1985: no classics. A few OK Jack Ryan films and What Lies Beneath which worked as a suprnatural take on Hitchcock but by no means brilliant..
He should acknowledge that Blade Runner is one of his best movies especially in light of his recent output. He was superb in that film and I couldn't imagine many other Rick Deckards. Actually thats one thing Blade Runner doesn't get praised enough for..the acting is uniformly excellent throughout.

I think he played an angry nervous jerk in Witness and The Fugitive, and almost every other film since BR. and hey, I love his Han Solo stuff. If he was making Blade Runner today, when Bryant is filling him in on the latest rep invaders, Ford would be tight lipped with anger, talking shakily through clenched teeth, instead of half drunk, cracking wise, tossing his head back and smirking

Yeah well..IMHO its a very good film alright BUT wouldn't hit the classic status of a lot of his earlier stuff. I'm afraid the 90's hasn't been kind to him, though in fairness he up 'n shagged Minnie Driver!

Perhaps he bacame too picky with the offered scripts... he has changed into family man/courageous lover character in his movies in the 90s.

I am curious how he'll act in the new Indiana Jones 4. I saw him in small cameo role in one episode of the Young Indiana Jones series and he had a beard there...

I've read that harrison didn't like the film because "i was a detective that did no detecting". He sits around alot in the move, there's a lot of dialogue. in my opinion, he didn't like it cause he didn't get it.

as for someone else playing the role, i have to agree...I can't imagine anyone else in that role.
