I know this isn't the first time Blade Runner has infuenced a computer game (ever played G-Police?), but I was playing Timespitters 2 on a freinds PS2 the other day, and we were playing the NeoTokio level. Now, this level is a blatent rip off of Blade Runner, right down to the trafficator type things (that make the same noice, but don't talk) to the fact that the police cars ARE spinners (no, really, they look exactly the same). Do you think this is a rip off, or a 'homage' to Blade Runner?

i think its both a homage and a rip off...probably more of a ripoff...

Hey tomtrek, I keep hearing that TimeSplitters 2 is really good. Is that true? I was thinking about getting it. I recently got to play The Thing and it was pretty awesome!

Nexus6 is probably correct... a little bit of both.
I heard the first TimeSplitters was good - never played it tho'. Gotta play this new BR'ed version now just to see.
Hey endzem... I actually felt cold while immersed in the atmosphere of The THING... or maybe it was only from sitting on my a$s for so long

Hey endzem, despite it being on a Playstation 2/ X Box/ whatever *spit* (long story), its actually quite good. Go for it, and pretend your Deckard on the neotokio levels.

If you say "2019" on its own, I think of Blade Runner. If you mention "Neo Tokyo" in the same sentence, then I think of Akira.

Yes, but.. L.A.2019 in BR is very Asian... As will be (IMHO) much of the world in the future, I think. At least in the big cities.

[ This Message was edited by: Gene Ettix on 2002-10-29 12:55 ]
