San Diego Batty Vid Phone scene

Hi gang,
I'm new here but my joining is long overdue.
I'm proud to say I was lucky enough to see the Workprint at the Egyptian theater twice shortly after I moved to Seattle in 1999. It was right after I finished reading Future Noir.

Ok, here's what I want to know...
I wonder why the San Diego vid Phone scene was omitted from the theatrical cut much less, the Final Cut.
I hope it will be included in the Dec 18 package as a deleted scene.

anyone have info?

I've been wondering why that entire version wasn't included on the five-disc set. Surely it would have been simple enough.

Yeah, that's too bad.
That scene, plus the alternate shot at the begining of the "Happy Ending" drive, plus some of the minor audio differences. I just hope those cut scenes are in the box set...

There's a picture in Future Noir of Roy in the VidPhon booth, if anyone is interested.

CDL mentioned that there were two alternate versions of the happy ending on the deleted scenes disc, one of them with dialog. I imagine the other one is the SD version overhead-car shot version.

Also, if anyone is interested, here is a still from that shot, courtesy of BRmovie.com from the Blade Runner magazine from 1982:

"Simple?" What has ever been "simple" about "Blade Runner?"

That particular cut doesn't exist...or should I say, no longer exists.

There is an alternate Vid-Phon booth intro to Batty in the deleted scenes, and there are a few different aerial passes above Deckard's sedan in there too, as well as alternate takes of both in "Dangerous Days."

Happy?

Happy? You remember my reaction to seeing you in New York. You bet I'm happy. :D

Simple. Sorry, bad word choice. I sometimes forget that the Blade Runner issues have been almost as complicated as my grandmother's health problems.
