yeah, i liked star trek and star wars since i was born (seriously, my parents have video proof, lol). but since i was 13, i saw blade runner, and that changed everything. i used to think star trek was the 'standard' for sci-fi movies, but that's changed. blade runner is THE standard for sci-fi. as the BRAVO movie narrator said about blade runner, it is often immitaded, but never replicated.

I totally agree with you. It feels like we are some kind of "elite", compared to the thousands of trekkies and "starwarries". Not that I think we are better than they, but we surely have a slighty finest taste...

I think we're just extremely lucky that Scott had a fine taste. If there ever should be a BR convention, at least no one could really dress up in a too embarrassing way. Well, maybe a Zhora raincoat would attract some attention.
I certainly feel sorry for all the Trekkies and Jedi followers when I see them on TV, but why is that? Would you dress up if you went to a BR convention?

Exactly, and trench coats aren't too bad. But what do you mean with guys? Do you mean that if there ever was a convention I'd have loads of guys to myself - being a woman, which I am - but I'm not single, so don't get the wrong idea. I simply like the thought of it. Which of course is not the reason why I joined. I'm never going to get out of this one .... No honestly, I couldn't care less about the sex of a BR fan. I'm just being curious.

Your not totally alone luba luft, im female, and if there ever was a BR convention that i could get to, unintentionally i'd probally arive looking like "Pris" with my mascarra running and hair all frizzy, its an easy look to achive in damp british weather!

I agree with not having a label...

BR seems like, more of an idea, maybe even an ideology, than just a film with a fan base. In that, we are not safe in this world, with ourselves, with each other, and it reminds us to cherish what we have. Given that Star Wars and Star Trek have their own morals imbedded into their midst, BR is a big warning, that also happens to be a wonderfully rich, intellectual film.
