Would anyone with a memory implant pass a VK test?

I have been wondering about this for a while. If a memory tag like a unicorn was added, could you be convinced that you were not human??
I would have to say yes. The person with the implanted memory has no reason to question it as anything but real. I don't know if the VK is sensitive enough to register the fact that it is implanted or not, but as to the person's bellief in it? I would say it is absolute, as it is for Rachael, hence her near emotional collapse when she discovers the truth about herself and her memories.
In my Blade Runner fanfic, I will be writing about Batty's memory of seeing C-Beams glitter at the Tanhauser Gate is an implanted memory.
The Tanhauser Incident took place in November of 2010, according to the Blade Runner Timeline. (A fictitious timeline created for enterntainment purposes by Aaron 'Harry Bryant' Brinkley)
If this is true, I am going to write it into tmy story that Batty's memory, which comes from a date set 6 years before his incept date of JAN 8, 2016, is actually one captured from a member of the Nexus 3 combat team that was there during the bloody mutiny against the Tanhauser Gate colony.
It was this bloody mutiny that resulted in Replicants being declared illegal on Earth by the U.N. in 2011. It also ordered that all Replicants on Earth be taken off-world or destroyed within 28 days.

Everyone has carte blanche when writing their own fanfic, of course. But according to the film (Deckard's VO in the deleted scenes, specifically), Roy was really there @ Tannhauser. Cool idea though. Sorry for being so off-topic... I'm just sayin'.

^^^What he said.
As for passing the VK test, it measures response time to emotionally-charged inquiries. Empathy, if you will. I'm not sure how fake memories would specifically affect this.
As for being convinced that you weren't human...maybe. Possibly. That's the beauty of how subtle the unicorn is, and why the film doesn't work without the daydream scene.

Hmmmmmm
Thanks for keeping me honest though. That's why I need feedback from this group as I write . . . to make sure it all fits together and is believeable!
I'll have to listen to that VO. Which scene is it in from the movie?
EDIT:
Actually, the more I think about it, that's exactly what Tyrell would have fed to the police . . . that Roy was there. He would want them to be fearful of him as a member of the mutinous, bloody squad from the Tanhauser Gate incident.
The memory implants would have been believed by Roy as his own memories. Tyrell gave out false information or MISinformation to help cover the trail of the charade he was utilizing to put his plan in place to study the replicant quest for more life, and Rachael's interaction with Deckard.
I think I'll leave it as is.
I like a good conspiracy/coverup/misinformation story.
It will be in good company and in keeping with other chapters in American history!

OK, but bear in mind, Roy was a combat model, and it does make sense for him to have been there.
And putting in my own input, having that be a false memory really seems to hurt his words in the tears in rain speech.
I'm not saying he has no false memories, mind you. I certainly think ts an interesting avenue to explore.
But that's my opinion. What you do as a writer, of course, is up to you. That's the beauty of the freedom of the craft.

I can definitely see how that would deflate the TEARS IN RAIN speech.
I will have to step outside the BR timeline and move the Tanhauser Incident from 2010 to within his lifespan, but I think that is the right thing to de here. I think he may still have implanted memories though. A theme I wish to explore with the Replicants.
Thanks! Great discussion!

What do you think:

Eldon Tyrell spoke softly into the vid-phone, “So, the attack has begun, has it Commander Rosen? Excellent.†He removed his glasses, wiping them on his robe. “Be very careful. Everyone must think this attack is a random act if this is to work.†He looked through the clean lenses and then replaced them on his face.
“Mr. Tyrell, this has to work flawlessly. This can’t turn into another Tanhauser Incident. That would set us back years if not decades.â€
“Not to fear, my dear Commander. Mistakes were most certainly made at the Tanhauser Gate Colony. Although that team in 2017 was primarily Nexus 6 models, there was a contingent of Nexus 3’s that were in the mix. This time they will all be from the 6th generation.
The Nexus 6 that will rise as the leader this time was part of the group involved at the Tanhauser Incident. In addition to his firsthand knowledge, he has been gifted additional implanted memories from the leader of that group. He will learn from the mistakes of ‘his’ collective memories of the event.
I know we both intimately understand the importance of this plan. If asked, deny any and all knowledge of this operation, and I’m sure that you’ll be awarded Admiral’s status by years’ end.â€
“Yes, sir.†Came the response and the vid-phone screen went black.
Tyrell smiled as his perched owl lazily turned its head to stare at the aging genius.

He mentions it in the chapter entitled "Rep Detect File" while spinning to the Tyrell Corp. with Gaff.

I don't see Tyrell as a "hands-on" type of guy. He is a delegator and manipulator, not one who wants to delve into minutiae.
Chess is his game...not Risk.
As for the implants: A wiped memory might result in the same delay in the emotional response as someone who had not developed them due to youthful inexperience.
