OK its been awhile since i posted on this topic usually been reading dear emspace's condesnding posts and i think that he really needed to relax and let us who are actually interested in doing this do it if not for possible positive monitary resons than for our own enjoyment

now im sure he will check back to see how we responded to his leaving and if when he does and he reads this i just want to tell him to relax i never understood why he had to take it upon himself to save the sacred name of Blade Runner

let people do what they want jesus it is just a movie. as for the project did you get some photos i visited your site every once in a while THX and i dont know if your still working on it i think alot of pepole got excited about emspaces comments so heres a link to a nice pic of deck http://www.brmovie.com/Images/BR_Deckard_scan_1.jpg

Im still working on the project, like i said before, i have some reall really good stuff typed up about the spinner and the esper machine, but im kinda "grounded" right now, so i cant post up the stuff until later. so keep on checking bladerunner.topcities.com
every time i update the page, i will put a new picture on the INDEX page, and i will put the date it was last updated.

it might be a few more days...im having, "technical difficulties" with my computer. windows NEVER works the way i want it to, so now i have to re-install it. on top of that, im switching to linux, thats right, im moving from windows to linux.(www.linux.org)

it wont be too long, i promise
"Don't be a dick!" -Wil Wheaton
well, im getting my PC up again, here is what i have SO FAR (not finishes)
do you like it ? i saw a documentary on the X planes a few days ago, so i know what im talking about, lol. im not CRAZY !!!!

vo - lan - tor (vo-lan'ter) n. A vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that is capable of flying in a quick, nimble, and agile manner. --intr. & tr.v. -tored, -toring, tors. To go or carry by volantor. [Lat. volare, to fly. Fr. volant, to move in a nimble and agile manner ]

The Spinner is not the type of car, but the manufacturer name, such as Ford, Nissan, Toyota, etc... The Flying Police Spinner is not the only flying volantor craft avalible. There are a wide variety of volantor crafts avalible, but cost very expensive. The Spinner we will refer to here though will be the Spinner Police Volantor.

Its verticle (up and down) propulsion system is based on the F-35's (A.K.A X-35) engine design, which is based upon the Harrier Jumpjet's verticle propulsion system. The difference between the Harrier's jets and the F-35's jets are lift-off time, fuel consupmtion, and size, which is basically an entire new engine design. The Harrier jet has a verticle lift-off time of 20 seconds to get off the ground, and takes up large amount of fuel. The F-35 however, has a lift-off time of only 7 seconds, and requires very little amount of fuel. The size of the Harrier engine is twice that of the F-35's, which adds to the weight. When the weight is doubled, that also doubles the take-off time, which slows the craft down. This is how it is dealt with in the Police Spinner (generic word for volantors in this document). The size is cut down, so it isn't as big as the F-35's verticle engine, because of weight. The Police Spinner doesnt carry heavy weapons loads like a military jet, and it doesnt carry hundreds of gallons of fuel for its jets. So the engine can be not as big. Also, the Spinner's outer plating isn't made of steel, or and other metal. It is made from a light weight, but very sturdy fiberglass aluminum mixture, the same type of plating that is used on the F-35. This reduces the weight greatly, but also adds the same protection as on normal cars.

Volantor Engines

The jets used to propell the Police Spiner (volantor) vertically are located in four areas of the Spinner. There are two on the left and right side of the back butt of the spinner, there are two on the left and right side of the front of the Spinner. The engine is placed in the back of the spinner, right behind the driver seat. The other engine, used do drive the car on the ground, is placed behind the passenger.(see schematics) This just comes to show how small the verticle engine is, small enough to place behind the driver. The cooler, used to cool down both engines to prevent overheating and shutdown, is very small, and is placed between the two engines. The reason for a cooler is because with the prototype Spinner, the engine would overheat, and cause an automatic engine shutdown. Automatic shutdown was used for safety reason, to prevent the Spinner's fuel tank form catching fire and causing an explosion onboard in mid-air. The solution for this problem was simple, a coolant that would never run out, was recyclable, and small. The coolant is explained in another section.

Fuel

The fuel for the ground engine is powered by water. Very simple. There is a small tank in the engine where water sits, the water turns to steam, and is recycled throughout the engine, and is never wasted, it just keeps on going non-stop. This also provides a quiet running engine that puts out no toxic air. But, this cannot be used for the volantor engine. The water powered engine cannot provide the power to lift the Spinner off the ground. Instead, the volantor enginne uses a regular gas powered engine. This is not a problem, since most of the engine power is used to take-off, which take-off only takes an average of 10 to 20 seconds. The rest of the power for the engine is minimized, since the Spinner by now is moving forward, and aerodynanmics set in here. To reduce wind resistance, the Spinner has an "aerosail" placed on the roof between the sirens. Aside from this, the fold down cover over the front tires greatly reduces wind resistance. The fold down covers keep the wind from getting trapped up in the "bowl" the wheels are in.(see schematics) Also, the last third and last thing used to provide aerodynamics is the nice rounded shape of the Spinner. There are very few, if any, sharp corners on the Spinner.(see schematics)

Engine Coolants

The air, used to cool down the engine, is sucked through a little indentation, right behine the door on each side on the upper part of the door. The indentation is about the size of a head, but is enough to cool it down. The air is take in while the Spinner is airborne and not while on the ground. Once the Spinner is fast enough to scoop up the air, the air travels through piping, and is divided up. These divisions of air go to different parts of the engine for even cooling. Since the engines are hot, most of the air turns to steam from all the condensation. The condensation is cycled through the engine to a little tank, which by the time it gets there, it is water. The water is the sent out into different metallic tubes, for more divided cooling of the engine. This is continued when the Spinner is in the air. When the pilot sets the spinner into "Descend" mode, the cycle is slowed down to conseserve as much water as possible, because there is no more air being take in. When the Spinner approaches the ground, near about 15 feet above the ground, the cycle is stopped, and the excess air is vented out as steam, because the air passes through the engine so fast, it doesnt have a chance to become condensation. The leftover condensation the goes through the piping into the water tank, where it sits there until next take-off.

FAA and U.N. AIR SAFTEY REGULATIONS

There are safety system aboard the Spinner. The FAA would not allow the Spinner to be airborne if it had not had certain built-in safety systems. To keep the Spinner from crashing into buildings, the spinner has a distance sensor, that senses how far away another Spinner or building is. If it comes within a certain distance, the Spinner would slow down, and either rise, drop, or turn away from its target. For example, if two Spinners are coming toward eachother head on, when the onboard computer of one Spinner detects the other Spinner, one Spinner will drop a few feet and the other will rise a few feet. To keep both Spinners from rising or falling at the same time, they both send out a radio signal to eachother telling the other Spinner weather to rise or fall. If it is a building the Spinner is going to crash into, the Spinner will turn away, making it impossible for a person to purposley crash into a building or another Spinner. To keep people from hacking the computers and disabling the sensors, the computer has a "self-destruct" mode. If the Spinner's computer is bypassed or tampered with in any way, the Spinner will ceise to function, and the Spinner will no longer work until the problem is fixed. It simply deactivates the volantor engine, and keeps the ground engine going so the Spinner can be driven to a repair shop.

how bout a little tech on the PKD lets say that the standard police issue was the
PKA-utomatic the cal. was 45 like many LAPD carry now since that bank robbery with the guys brandishing AK's anyhow these PKA's were very popular for there ability to handle most types of perpetrators: stoned store robbers car jackers terrorists whathave you lets say that they used the PKA for 15 years
Holden:"It's a wipe out, they're almost us!"
whoops anyway they've been using it for 15 years then along comes the illeagalization of replicants so they used the PKA for a few months against the reps until they discovered that it wasn't powerful enough so the LAPD and lets assume several other departments put in a requeast to Pflage/Katsumata for a beefed up version of the PKA. After a few months of developement out comes the PKD the D soon became a slang acronym for Detective as they were only issued to Replicant Detectives these wepons after only a few months of use became a favoritem, the caliber had been uped to .50 cal (why not) lets say that the gun carries five shots and its a revolver and goin off of Phil S. and richard Coyle's idea that there is a Special Round loaded using the bolt action on the gun. this round is a small grenade or rocket round lets say one could choose between both.

so the PKD is the hottest gun out there it becomes a big item on the black market one or two shipments get knocked over by enterprising idividuals so the vehicles carrying the weapons are under heavy police escort. OK i'll think of more later

Holden:"It's a wipe out, they're almost us!"
ok more about the PKD lets talk about the ammo used now a .50 cal. slug wont do anything a hole lotta good but reps are tuff even the pleasure models so dum dum rounds are issued in limited quantities to the rep-det why limited because they aint cheap this is evident in the film deck uses dum dum's on zora but not on pris
Holden:"It's a wipe out, they're almost us!"
the reason it took as many shots as it did is because zora is a assasin i think thats what she was anyhow so there are three types total lets say full metal jacket hollow point and the dum dum (for thoes of you who dont know what a dum dum is it's an exploding round)oh yea and the special rounds but i've already talked about those
Holden:"It's a wipe out, they're almost us!"
ok the dual triggers the first one or the one most forward fires the special round and the other one fires the revolver now for the targeting device as seen here hmm lets say that its jus an infrared beam that activates a buzzer in the grip when a target is in range so it's basicly a range finder and the optimum range is between 25 and 40 meters abouts. Now for the bit up fron with the lights let us suppose that it's connected with the range finder and that it keeps track of the rounds fired and when the blade runner is down to his/her last shot it buzzes but its different from the targeting buzz when ammo is low its pulses while the targeting buzz is steady i think that covers most of the PKDs aspects anymore let me know
History:
The LAPD used for the PKA-utomatic for 15 years the cal. was 45. PKA's were very popular for there ability to handle most types of perpetrators: stoned store robbers, car jackers, terrorists whathave you upon the illeagalization of replicants the PKA proves to be to weak so the LAPD and lets assume several other departments put in a requeast to Pflage/Katsumata for a beefed up version of the PKA. After a few months of developement out comes the PKD the D soon became a slang acronym for Detective as they were only issued to Replicant Detectives these wepons after only a few months of use became a favoritem, the caliber had been uped to .50 cal the PKD carries five shots and in its revolver frame also there is a Special Round loaded using the bolt action on the gun. this round is a small grenade or rocket round

PKD soon became the hottest gun out it becomes a big item on the black market prices reportadly fetch upwards of $2000 depending on the condition of the weapon one or two shipments get knocked over by enterprising idividuals so the vehicles carrying the weapons are under heavy police escort.

Ammo:
PKD the ammo used .50 cal. slug wont do anything a hole lotta good but reps are tuff even the pleasure models so dum dum rounds are issued in limited quantities to the rep-det squads. The Rep-Det Rick Deckard used dum-dum rounds on the escaped replicant Zora but ran out before retireing the replicant Pris. Dum-Dum's are suggested to use on combat models this was made a requirement after two Blade Runners in Chicago were gunned down by escaped replicants

there are three types of ammunition available to Blade Runners; full metal jacket, hollow point, and the dum dum ( a dum dum is an exploding round)

The special round: The specail round is either a small self propelled rocket or grenade it is loaded via the bolt on top of the PKD this Special Round is very expensive and is rarely used by Blade Runner's Rick Deckard used the special round against replicant Roy Batty

Other Features:

A unique feature of the PKD is its dual triggers the first one or the one most forward fires the special round and the other one fires the revolver

The PKD also features a small targeting device placed on the left side of the gun. it points an infrared beam that activates a buzzer in the grip when a target is in range. The optimum range is between 25 and 40 meters abouts. the range finder is controlled by a small computer located in the small housing up front, this is recogniseable by the four lights on its housing this computer also keeps track of the rounds fired and when the blade runner is down to his/her last shot it buzzes but its different from the targeting buzz when ammo is low its pulses while the targeting buzz is steady
