im a little confused. IS THERE A BLADE RUNNER SPECIAL EDITION ???

is this 100% definite ? ive been reading for about 2 or 2.5 years now about a blade runner SE, but it always seems to be "delayed".

i havent seen the original blade runner with V.O., and the 10th anniversary (unrated version). will the unrated 10th anniversary blade runner be on it ? also, will the "on the edge of blade runner" be on it ?

(BTW, no i am not new to blade runner, its just im a little confused and a little in doubt about the special edition....i hope it comes soon)

If I remember correctly, isn't there supposed to be 3 version of the film in the DVD? The Original, the DC, and some new version (please the workprint, please the workprint)?

Yes there will be three versions, the first version is the 1982 workprint which is the Director's Cut we all have on DVD and love. The second will be The theatrical version with the voice overs, the third is a new special edition with added scenes without voiceovers.

The new 3rd version will be the DEFINITIVE VERSION, or in other words, the REAL director's cut.

The director's cut we all know released in the early 90's wasn't exactly Ridley Scott's final cut, they had a small period of time they gave him to make the most significant changes, and he agreed as it would clean up a lot of what the studio imposed on him in '82(voice over, happy ending, no unicorn).

Besides bettering the sound and visuals, the new cut should fix problems like the wires holding the spinners, make dialogue fit mouths, and that type of stuff. Not only is the snake dealer's dialogue off, but Sebastian's mouth doesn't move at one point when he has dialogue in his apartment when Roy grabs him and tells him to help. There are several small things like that in the movie, like in Deckard's first metting with Bryant, there is one line from Bryant where it is obvious it was dubbed later.
ous

You never know, but Ridley Scott could use different takes of the same scenes, or prolong/shorten some scenes, basically better editing. I'm not hoping for him to put in all lost scenes(many say that hospital scene was better left out), but it would be cool if there were a few extensions to scenes.

IMO, it would be good to have a little bit more of the Rachel/Deckard scenes, if anything good exists.

If not put back into the movie, we'll certainly have a lot of good extras! I could sit there and listen to every little detail about the movie all day long, so don't anybody hold back!

I haven't heard any new information recently at all and all sources have been quiet.

And ROBOCOP, I'd like to know where you heard that it will be out in August.

BRmovie, i found out from www.michaeldvd.com.au, which has been incredibly accurate about it's estimates since i have been a regular surfer of the website. And is most likely the worldwide release.

Also i heard that they will remix it in DD and DTS 5.1? Anybody know if it's still happening? And will they do it on all versions.

Actually i would be interested in watching a new version but don't think anything could top the DC, plus it would look too new if they enhanced scenes, and i never noticed any wires so the DC is ok for me except for poor visual and limited sound.

Also i would love to hear a Ridley Scott commentary on all three, anybody know if it's happening?

Also i want to urge them to leave anyone else out, we only want Ridley!

Anyone heard the Star Wars commentaries? Those lackies at Fox, we only want the director's comments foo!s!

Well i've said my bit.
Ah thanks - off my normal radar screen. They say, "Tentatively Due Out for Sale 1-Aug-2003". I hope they may be accurate about this guess, but I'd be wary of saying it *is* out in August.

I have now checked this with them. They do not have any more accurate data than "2003", but as their database fixes on a date, in order to get the latter half of 2003, they've estimated it as August rather than let it default to January 1st (which it obviously was not going to be).

I also have information from the studio and the information is that there is no information. "2003, hopefully" is still the best I can come up with at this time.
That's true for Europe as well, the region 2 version of the Blade Runner dvd isn't available anymore.

Might be a sign that the SE is indeed on it's way.

Hello, by the way. I posted a couple of times in the game part of this forum, but since that seems to be dead, dead, dead I thought I'd say hello here as well.
