Hey maybe this is just me. . . But why in the movie were there little or no refrences to the war that was the reason for creating replicants in the first place? Anyone who read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" would know what I"m talking about.

_________________
WAKE UP NEO. . .

THE MATRIX HAS YOU . . .

FOLLOW THE WHITE RABBIT. . .

---------------------------------------------

-IS THIS TESTING WHETHER I'M A REPLICANT OR A LESBIAN MR. The story was radically changed.

BR is not a straight interpretation of DADOES(or is even that similar) and so it should not be held to the other story's plot points.

Even if they wanted to put it into BR, you can only fit so many themes into a 2 hour movie.

true but don't you think they could have at least mentioned it. maybe during the voight kampf test? Like in the book? Or shortly mentioned in the prologue? It just would have made the movie more intersting to those who don't understand? also would explain the artificial animals to some people.

I think I need to reply to this to make a point about another topic. There alot of things in blade runner that would have been helpful if explained in the Voice over narration of Ford. Like some historical commentary as opposed to the obvious stuff they had him explain making you feel like you must be stupid at times. I like the over all idea of a voice over and and I think it could have been used well in ths fasion. It also would have gone well with Scotts way of layering details for texture and atmosphere. Imagine how much more involved you would have been from the begining of the movie if he had done that. Unless that was his idea ...to make you feel like a replicant that was born yesterday.????

I wonder what the chances are they could get HF to come in and do a new Voice Over for the special edition? probably not a chance in hell.

probably not. lol. But it would be cool. I think they should re-release it in theatres so it can reach yet more people. but that's just me. I never really got to see it in a movie theatre (I was born in 1985. Sadly). I heard somewhere from someone that Harrison Ford thinks Bladerunner was one of the worst movies he did. I highly doubt he said that!

I know he has said it was one of his worst movie making experiances. He fought with both sean young and ridley scott during filming. It was ridley's first movie in the hollywood system and his frustration with the unions and hollywood politics mad it pretty hard for him too and I am sure his frustration got passed along. Ford was pissed that ridley never gave him "instructions" on how to play scenes. so from his point of view it was "his" worst movie.

In the film, it seems there's some kind of limited warfare going on, in outer space. When Bryant and Deckard examine the files of the four replicants, they are all military in one way or another. And when Roy Batty, dying, tells Deckard of the amazing things he has seen, he speaks of "attack ships on fire, off the shoulder of Orion".

Orion's shoulders are approximately 500 light years from Earth.

I just love the scene where Deckard moves out of the way of the Osterich, i just can't help but wonder if that was a reference to the robot animals in the book, theres so much in the book that you see hinted in small areas of the film, he even bonks Rachel
