This may be blasphemy, but what if a remake of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner comes out of Hollywood someday (or, from elsewhere)? With lots and lots of computer generated special FX! Now that's really Future Noir! Who would play Deckard? And Rachel? Or Leon, Holden, Bryant, Gaff, Tyrell, Roy Batty, Pris, Zhora, Taffy, etc., etc. Who would (or, could) direct this new version? Suggestions and ideas, please!

I guess it might be fun to imagine which new actors/directors would be good in a new Blade Runner, as the topic of remakes has been discussed before on the old forum...And I think most true fans of the film would agree with you,Mercer...BLASPHEMY!

There will be another Blade Runner movie, but it won't be a sequel or remake of the original movie, it will be more closely related to the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. I am going to direct it. I am on my way to emerson college in boston to major in film. Blade Runner lacked a few original details. Mercer, Empathy box's, the importance and expense of animals (sydney's catalogue), Phil Resch, Garland, and a few other details I would add, including Iran, ricks wife.

Well, those lots of last-minute-tech-FX's don't make me widh a remake. To this moment, I've seen no CGIs that truly look
like real things. They've achieved great quality, but still absolutely look like ... CGIs. I can spot them from a hundred miles. If there was a remake (I WOULDN'T LIKE IT, BUT WHO KNOWS, HOLLYWOOD CLOWN$ WANNA MAKE MONEY OUT OF WHATEVER THEY THEN CAN PUT THEIR HAND$ ON, ...AND THEY DO KNOW HOW TO GET THEIR HAND$ ON THING$), if a remake is done, I say, I think it would be a cool tribute to BR if they'd use again real miniatures instead of CGIs.
Vangelis score: UNTOUCHABLE. NEVER. You wanna hear heavy, turn off the volume on your TV and put the cd you like in your stereo. (Like in that cool synchronocity with
BRDC and Wish you were here).

Hi all. A minor post here, but I just watched "Robocop: Prime Directives" on TV tonight. Robocop himself was played by an actor named Page Fletcher. (You may remember him as "The Hitchiker" from the TV-series of the same name, about 15 years ago.) Anyhow, it's uncanny how much he looks like Rutger Hauer. In fact, up until I just checked Fletcher's info on www.imdb.com, I always thought that WAS Rutger Hauer as the Hitchiker in the TV series. Oh well, just an observation to go along with the "Who to cast in a re-make" topic.

Page Fletcher does look similar to Rutger Hauer. And I remember The Hitchhiker...
I also seem to remember a movie from the 80's with C. Thomas Howell being stalked, terrorized, and beaten by Rutger...
And I think it was called The Hitcher!

There won't be a remake so there is no worry, but if there was a remake I think Scott Bakula would be a cool choice for Deckard, James Marsters (the guy who plays Spike in Buffy The Vampire Slayer) would be good as Roy, I'll have to think on it some more for the other cast members, but I'll come up with something.
