Nothing. :(

Sorry m8. I did a check for the south of England venues. Nothing. Only confirmed venues in the UK are the following:

Ritzy in Brixton

Cameo in Edinburgh

Picturehouse in Cambridge

Picturehouse in Liverpool

Tyneside in Newcastle

All starting November 23rd.

Typically, not long after posting this i also found they are showing it at Ritzy in Brixton. Only an hours drive for me so i rang them today and the tickets should go on sale in the next few days.

So, Any southerly fans want to make an evening of it and hook up on say Sat 24th for an evening showing?

I don't think we have much of a choice even if the conditions aren't perfect.
It's still the only chance to see the final cut on the big screen.
From the pictures the theatre looks quite ancient although one would hope the interior and technology of the place are suitable for one of only five cinemas Warner picked to show it?

I'll do some digging..... :)

O.K. Apparently it is the only cinema in the UK with 2 Digital projectors. It also has digital sound and what i assume is a picture of the main screen looks very nice !
Anyone else up for this? C'mon people, last time this happened was 15 years ago...

Since were viewing the release in Ridleys home country, im amazed at the lack of theatres showing it. that said, the US has proved yet again that the consumer can show that the big picture houses can indeed get it wrong, and have signed up for more showing that they anticipated.

I`ll go with friends tothe ritzy in brixton. they have been advised not to talk to me throughout the film.....

Arrived at the Ritzy with 15 minutes to spare and sat down in the rather comfy seats in screen 2 and took in the strange twangy tribal music that you could only get in an independent picturehouse. Was a bit concerned about the size of the screen but just before the film started it magically grew in width (as they do)
There was no bbfc certificate before the Ladd logo appeared which had this strange music playing over the top of it.... that then continued over the opening crawl text. O.K i thought, this is the directors final cut and Vangelis wanted to do something funky with the soundtrack. But when we were hearing this same straining Mexican guitar playing into the L.A night sky i knew there was a problem.
The twats had put the wrong soundtrack over the right movie!!
No one in the theatre had the gumption to get up (or didn't know any better) so i jostled past people ,out of my row and told the usherette to get hold of the projectionist QUICK!!
There was an embarrassed apology before the film was re-started.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the final cut after two years of abstaining and 15 years after seeing the DC on the big screen.
It is now in my view completely the film it should have been.

Three cheers for sir Scott!
