Daoloth, "spinner with wrong lighting" - you mean the visible cables?
No, I mean every scene where we can see a flying spinner. The lighting (or something) is wrong, so it doesn't look like a flying car, it looks like a flying prop.
Personally, I like very much the look of the flynig spinners. I find what you call "flying props look" much more credible that most of the CGI I've seen in recent movies, including Gladiator, Pearl Harbor (YIKES!)and AI. I think its part of the Blade Runner look I love. The spinners lights look come from the work Douglas Trumbull did for "Close Encounters", but I think in that movie it was an overwhelming light maremagnum, even for UFOs. In contrast, in BR I find it toned down to a very good level that makes spinners nice to look at, without being too shiny for the dark atmosphere of LA 2019.

showing more CGI as its put would be nice but tht might change the overall proportion and take away from the exagerated scale and height of the buildings which is an essential part of the futuristic LA BR cityscape.
That hurt! That was irrational of you. Not to mention ... unsportsmanlike.Heh heh...ha ha ha! Where are you going?"
I guess this is an old topic, but as good as any for me to de-lurk with:
All I'm hoping to see is an HD picture -- to catch the details you can spot in theatrical showings which somehow don't come across on the DVD.
And, as a bonus, I think a Syd Mead commentary track -- perhaps with some of the SFX production guys -- would be fasinating.

Welcome, stormfield!
An HD picture would be a must, IMO; good call there.
I just want it all. All footage, all possible commentaries. All documentaries. Everything.

before i get to my own personal wish list. we must all be prepared for a mere HD transfer with possible commentary and CH4 documentary.
There are no g`tees that any `other` footage will ever become property of warner or Ridley ever again.
that said..
3-4 versions of the film, being the OV, DC WP and as ridley has mentioned before a possible new version. this could be put together one on disc via the method of branching (see the r1 version of t2 special edition - 3 versions on one side - awesome)
im sure our DVD guru charles could work his magic there!
obviously, we dont need to tell ridley how to edit a film, but it would be nice to have all extra footage of the same quality and ratio as the feature itself (so budding enthusiasts can then work their own magic and make their own personal cuts)

Why would you want to watch it in Full Screen? You'd be missing half the movie fer crissake!
I'd want nothing less than widescreen to watch Blade Runner!

Got to agree with you - seeing a HD version in Blue Ray would be perfect.
Last week I saw a xfer of a short clip of Lawrence of Arabia on a 8ft SXRD front projector. The scenes were 3D in quality and detail - almost was like looking out a window at the action. This is what we want for BR.

I wonder if some of this is going to be true, especially the placement of the unicorn dream.

BladeRunner in Pan n' Scan full screen... That's like watching IMAX with your eyes closed.
I love everything about The Workprint, it's soo much better in every way, hope the final cut will be close to that.
