How many of these do you think they will make?

Enough to keep us happy.

Yeah I gotta wonder about the use of the word "limited" in this case. In every other DVD release (like Anchor Bay) they state the full run of any limited edition of an upcoming release. I'm guessing that the final number of "limited" sets is going to be based on pre-orders (both direct-to-consumers and chains), and, at the reasonably low price they're at, is going to be rather high.

If a "limited" DVD set has a printing of 25,000+, that really isn't limited at all...not really. By that definition, all DVDs are "limited". If they had said each Briefcase Version would be limited to a total of 5,000 each (or less), that to me is more of a "limited" version.

Still, this is all speculation and opinion. And to be honest, I don't care, so long as I get my copies!

I didn't take any chances...I got my order in via Warner Home Video's own site. It'll be a long wait, but it will be worth it.

I wanted to make sure too, but wasn't quite as cautious as that. I put a pre-order in on Amazon.com and will switch over to Amazon.ca when it becomes available. Amazon.ca does have a listing right now for the 5 disc set but it is priced at $83.99CDN there, which seems a bit high considering there's only 5 cents difference between the US and CDN dollar at the moment. It's also listed under "Books" so hopefully it's just an error.

If I could pre-order it from Amazon.ca, I'd probably have a chance to get it this year rather than mid January 2008.

So correct me if I'm wrong... Is the briefcase an actual briefcase?

Or is it a small cardboard thing with all the contents of the Collectors Edition?

I think that's something like aluminum. I highly down that the outer part is plastic.

This special edition still looks really cool. I'm really amazed Warner Bro.'s has gone all out for Blade Runner DVD release. I knew they would eventually, I just didn't think it would be more than a 2-disc edition.
