soundtracks-Blade Runner Esper Edition MK2 & LA Nov 2019

Hi Guys

Im a newbie here. Ive searched through the forum archive for info on this edition of the soundtrack but cant find anything. I wanted to ask for some advice on a 3 CD set I saw on ebay. Can be seen here.

Is this worth the asking price of 35 pounds? and is it a good definitive version of soundtrack and atmospherics for the film?

IMHO, absolutely NOT (both questions).

The quality of these new bootlegs are simply horrible. The "previously unreleased" tracks always come from rough and funny sources, like the audio of the film itself (including ambience sounds!), trailers, copies of copies of copies of temporary cuts, etc. Also, the unscrupulous authors always record the tracks incomplete or mixed with dialogue or audio effects in order to fill the edition and, specially, have the key to later edit a new (and "improved") version of the soundtrack...

In othwer words, pure RUBBISH.

If you want a good advice, make use of Bit Torrent or eMule to freely download these "editions" instead of paying crazy quantities for them.

By the way, there is still much music from Blade Runner than has been never released, so by now it does not exist any "definitive" or "complete" edition, even including these bits of crap.

yeah, we had a whole war on this topic. just dowload the soungs, dont give money to the pirates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no matter how "rare" it is, rarity has no meaning in a bootleg. rarity and bootleg is an oxymoron.

Just out of interest what are the best versions of soundtrack to look out for?

the best versions are the free "rare" ones NOT bought from the pirates. look for the "esper" soundtrack.

i bought the 4 disk set off of ebay which, amongst a huge list of things, included the unknown-cameraman workprint version, but included the following music discs -

blade runner - esper edition
blade runner - gongo edition
Blade Runner - Los Angeles, November 2019 Edition

as previously mentioned, their from a variety of sources, some, seemingly are ripped pre-production, so you may only regognise a few minutes out of a 11 minute track.

that said, i dont have the disks anymore, and if you wish to `get hold` of these disks, you really should purchase them.
