Shooting range problems....

I have a Windows XP.....and everytime I play the shooting range,I have to wait a very very very very very very long time before the targets appear.
It's annoying....I don't believe the Turbo is going to do any good to my computer,so I didn't take it.Someone said it's going to fix the problem.
But I don't believe that....

it just hit me, but try the "compatibility mode" in windows xp. right-click on the blade runner icon (or start menu icon or whichever you use to start the game). anyways, right-click on it, and go to PROPERTIES and then COMPATIBILITY. try running in windows 95 compatibility. it may work.

Tried that already.

I have tried it on the compatibility mode.
But it doesn't work.
Thanks anyway.

I notcied this as well, however I wonder if it was meant to be that way. The reason I say this is that I have gone ot the shooting range on a Windows XP install and running under emulation in Linux. I have tried specifying Win 98 for Wine X on Linux as well ... same issue. Very slow.

way back when i first got this game, i was using an old dell that ran windows 98. thats where i first played the game and i also had the time problem. i upgraded it to windows 2000, still same problem. also tried the game (not the shooting range part) under wine in linux, worked fine. both times ive tried the shooting range ive waited a long time, so every time i play it, i never bother anymore. might be a glitch in the programming.

I got the game when it came out, played it on a Win95 machine, and it worked perfectly. Played it again on my WinME system, and yeah, I still haven't been able to wait long enough for them to come out.

Hi guys,

I know this thread is a bit stale, but I just thought I'd let you know that I just recently started playing Blade Runner (Picked up the DVD second hand) and had the same problems with the shooting range.

TURBO WORKS! :D

I have to set turbo to 35% but then the Shooting range works fine.

For reference, My system is:

XP2600+ Barton
1Gb PC3200 CL2.2.2.5 Mem
Geforce 6600 GT Gfx
Win XP Pro SP2

You will obviously need to change the turbo settings based on your System, but just 5 minutes of trial and error and you will be up and running!

Turbo won't damage your system in anyway... All it does it eat up CPU clock cycles.. You set it to 50% and it will push your CPU to 50% usage so that there's only 50% left for the game, essentially halving the speed of you CPU.
Have no fear, Turbo works... I've just been playing the shooting range for the last 45Minutes...

I Finally beat Steel - But then in the next act she beat me again.... Damn.

Does anyone know if there is any point to the shooting range? or is it just a side game?

if you make 100% on the shooting range, and keep on the top of the list without steel beating you, you get the bonus commentaries at the end of the game + some deleted footage from the videos.

You should save those for April 1st :)

huh? oh, i remember, took me a while. no, i dont do april fools, never been a big fan of acting childish. up until my junior year in high school did i realise april fools didnt end at second grade like i had been lead to believe.

reminds me of that red dwarf episode "queeg". "we're talkin april may june AND july fools."

nah, if i wanted to fool someone, i'd go bigger (something like apple going to intel ;) )
