Fantasy BladeRunner Game

The old westwood game was good fun back in its time but with all the advances in graphics these days it reallys is about time somebody did a new one.. heres a few things i would like to see....

play as either a Bladerunner or Replicant

Ability to change from 3rd to 1st person view

Huge BR universe to explore with all the classic places and maybe a few new ones like the 'Tanhauser Gate'

Game played in virtual real time ( )

Sleep and food necessary (when sleeping you could dream of unicorns or be given clues to the game)

sleep and food necessary. reminds me a bit of elder scrolls 3 (AKA morrowind). i'd like to see something in that style, like morrowind. they just plop you into the world and say "have at it kid" and you're free to do whatever you want, and ocassionally you might want to go on a few quests, which you may.

Every single crap action movie out these days seems to get its own PC game developed on the back of it
its just a shame BR wasnt released now instead of 20 years ago...

Why doesnt Ridley re-release it like its a brand new film and have premier etc

i'm sure there would be an audience to lap it up who are unaware of the film
and its not like it would look dated either....

they should do what they did with THX 1138. digitally clean up the movie so it looks brand new. i saw the original thx 1138, and i bought the new one and, WOW, it really looks like a brand new film. they could clean up the picture quality, and enhance the neon sign glow for added effect, fix the mistakes (decakrd's booboo&beer scene) vangelis could rescore the music for 5.1 THX certified surround sound. thats would be awsome.

but back on topic...

blade runner got its game, im pleased with it. i could ask for more....but im not.

by "ask for more" i mean i could ask for a whole game series based on the blade runner universe. sort of like the monkey island games or the deus ex series. i could ask for a blade runner 2 game, then a blade runner 3, and pretty soon just have a whole series of games based on blade runner. but im not asking that they do that, because im quite happy with one game, and that one genre (adventure)

You know making a game actually is plausible. Using a simple engine like Torque http://www.garagegames.com/mg/projects/tge/ it could be done. This is the engine that was used in Tribes. Not stunning, but easy to use, tons of peer support and only $100 to top it off.

The big problem of course is that the instant anyone gets a wiff that you are making a fan game for BR they would shut you down citing copyright infringement etc....
