Recent price drop of Director's Cut DVD - a sign?

I purchased the Director's Cut about 2 years ago and the cheapest price I could find it for at time was around $14-15. The DVD had been available for about 5 years with minimal price drop. However, now I can find it for $6-7. In my experience, a price drop usually occurs when a new SE is in the works.

What I'm suggesting could be a stretch, but it's just something to think about.

Too good to be true.

The works on SE are in so immature phase it can't remotely have impact on the price of previous release on the market. 'Sides, 5 years is enough to cut the price down. If the price dropped down everywhere, it's probably a standard Warner policy.

If the rumors are true and the SE is nothing more than a remastered Director's Cut plus that docu, then it could be true. The release date is the first quarter of 2005, if I remember correctly.
If the remastered 'DC' looks every bit as good as the remastered 'Alien' then we're going to be in for a unbelievable treat!
Of course, a new DC (plus Theatrical and 1992 DC) would've been nirvana/utopia/heaven.

BR796164,

I see your point, and I did figure that was a possibility.

BTW, Blade Runner DC DVD is $3.88 at Walmart this Friday

That DVD has been out a long time, one of the very first dvds that was released. I think the price drop has less to do with the SE and more to do with the age of the original.
