Make that 21-15. <BR> <BR>Roy Batty to Rick Deckard: "I've seen things _you people_ wouldn't believe ..." <BR>Gaff to Deckard: "It's too bad _she_ won't live ..." <BR>If Deckard is a replicant, the movie no longer makes sense, and the relationship with Rachael becomes pointless. ("Romeo, good news: you're really a Capulet!") This is a case of "director versus script" disease.

Sure Roy says "Kinship", but why should that mean Roy thinks Deckard is a Rep? Not at all in my opinion. Similar to the piece of Deckard speech that didn't make it. "We were brothers, he and I..." - was intended to show that DESPITE them being a Replicant and a Human, they wanted the same things - love, a chance to live a 'normal' life, time to live it... "Kinship" also refers to Deckard's defiance in the face of death - Roy sees that he is worth saving, both as an individual and as a way for Roy to achieve his humanity. All very poignant if Deckard is Human and only figuratively the same as Roy. All lost if Deckard is literally the same as Roy.

I dont think he says "kinship"... Maybe I'm wrong, but I only hear a noise Roy makes for the effort of catching Deckard. It sounds a little like kinship, I can't deny, but if you ask me, he says no word. Maybe we could start a poll.

Come on people..He's a REPLICANT. He was in the book and there are several hints in the movie that tell us this. I am surprised that so many of you think he's human.

Actually, Skinjob, it's more a matter of those of us who prefer to "Think" of Deckard as human. As for the book, I'm afraid it's the other way around. Although DADoES lightly hints he may be a rep, in the end everything indicates he's not. <BR> <BR>Anyway, this post is "JUST TO VOTE". So I believe the score is now: <BR> <BR>Human- 21 <BR>Rep- 17 <BR> <BR> <BR>

You can think what you want but there is more than a hint that Deckard is not human. Yes its more interesting juxtaposition to argue that he is human and how he compares to the androids but it is equally as intriguing that he may be a simulcara. <BR> <BR>"you've done a <!-- BBCode Start --><B>real man's</B><!-- BBCode End --> job" <BR>gaffe to deckard <BR>how do you explain gaffe's knowledge of deckard's unicorn dream? <BR>Who is the 6th escaped replicant? The data on him was "lost" <BR>

Okay he must be a replicant for one reason and one reason only.... <BR> <BR> <BR>RIDLEY SCOTT SAID HE WAS! <BR> <BR> When you get a chance read that article, or see the interveiw where Mr. Scott says right out "Rick Deckard is a replicant". <BR> <BR>If you also notice whenever the Nexus (don't know te number) came out. The ones designed for a job purpose then Rick Deckard became a Bladerunner. Coinicidence? <BR> <BR> <BR>Now all in all he's probalby both. he probaly is never one or the other. Ridley said he left it that way to leave up to your imagination and to stir up conversations like these.

I like to think of Deckard as being a human, so that's how I'll vote. <BR> <BR>BTW, I'm surprised that more people voted "Human". I always thought we were in the minority>

Human, just because it feels right for all the reasons the other human-voters have already indicated. Not here to flog a dead horse, just cast a vote. <BR> <BR>emspace.
