Human. The ethical story is more interesting that way, although I think having the question hanging in the air is important to having the story work.

Also, IMHO they would not have sent a weaker replicant after the others to kill them - surely they would have believed that a dumber weaker replicant would die to the ones it was hunting.

Human 15
Replicant 9

Didn't anyone hear that Ridley Scott announced he was a replicant? I thought I read it on this website but I'm not sure. Maybe it was just bull but who knows. I'd have to say that it's up to Philip K. Dick whethere he was or not. But to tell you the truth, I'm going for human.

Deck's a Human

If Deck were a replicant, he would of been weaker not in the sense of his actual abilities but just ignorant of their existence and you might consider him "Stronger" because he has that belief in his own humanity and memories that keep him going day after day.

And as the film is inspired by the book rather than based on it, PKD's views are not relevant either. In fact PKD said that Scott's view on the nature of Reps was quite different to the androids in DADoES.

I can see some truth in that DADOES is more of a human story about humans hunting down killer androids, you can feel the human-ness in the story when you read it but that is just what i feel when i read the book what about you guys?

Yes, in the book you can identify with him..and in the movie because he is human (my vote is already cast).

Just a reminder that my original question wasn't about evidence or proof or even belief - it's about preference.
