I think there is no right answer it is all the eye of the beholder whether he is human or not.

Darn Rights! But I think we are forgetting one thing, who wrote the book? Not Scott, he made the movie, but not the characters! If Philip K. Dick were still with us we may have a verdict.

Tim

Just re-reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep..wow! Shows how the androids lack of empathy, Nexus 6 or not, is their stumbling block, and the fact the can't care for animals..and all Deckard wants is a real animal, showing he is pure human.

This is only explained in the book.

Deckard is human in the Phil K. Dick book ... Morgan thinks Deckard is human ... so does Harrison.. so he will always be human to me..

Too bad PKD passed away just before BR opened. He missed seeing the success his films garnered.

Syd Mead thinks he's a rep (Deckard, I mean)

_________________

Richard Gunn
News and Content Manager for Bladezone
richardg@bladezone.com

[ This Message was edited by: Deckard BR26354 on 2002-10-06 13:29 ]

The question is about your personal feelings on the *movie*.

My personal feelings are that Deckard is Human. But I already said that last year...

Hmm, can't obe vote for "ambiguous"?

Seriously, the film just left me with a big question mark on to the nature of his being. So, my vote goes for "asexual"!

BUT, if I really had to choose. If I had a gun pointed at my head, I would vote for "rep", as I like that twist that would provide for the story as well as the themes it raises.

Human: 20
Rep: 14

Although, if I had it my way, it would be like this:

Human: 20
Rep: 13
Asexual: 1

Yes, I know the term "asexual" would not apply, but hey, I find the term amusing when applied to anything.
