now couldnt the reverse be done easily for memory implantation? anyways, no need for a high def camera now, lol.

this would be so weird. one day youll be walking down the street, times square perhaps, and a childhood memory could start playing on the big screens for the world. there could be laws against this, but hey, its america, you can bypass any law with legal loopholes and technicalities.

reminds me of the inidcators holden had placed in his wrist where he could check how his new lungs were functioning. was it his lungs? not sure, all i remember is the book kept talking about holden checking his indicators on the LEF in his wrist or something.

this is a cool technology, maybe we can one day watch BR on our hands while at the bus stop

BTW, i just changed the title of this thread because im finding lots of interesting tech articles that seem so much our of the world of blade runner and philip k dick, i didnt want to throw them all into their own threads and clog up the forum.

for God's sake, people havent even mastered driving on the ground yet at 30 mph, like we're actually ready to fly. Believe me, i used to commute to school for months, every day there would be an accident that could have been avoided if people werent 1) talking on their cell phone or 2) trying to put on their makeup while they drive

imagine going to work seeing the guy in the skycar next to you holding a cellphone on his shoulders with his head tilted at 85 degrees to hold the cell phone in place. yeah, scarry, and sad.

Nice. Wonder when we'll see the computer from the Minority Report. I know there's a concept machine already developed, but when can I get my hands on one (no pun intended).

Iris scanners, straight out of the Minority Report.

"When a parent arrives to pick up her child at one of three grade schools in the Freehold Borough School District, she'll need to look into a camera that will take a digital image of her iris. That photo will establish positive identification to gain entrance into the school."

Now for the question I always throw in at the end of each news post: How long before the impliment it around the city for "anti-terrorist threats" and how how long before Google decides to pay for these for the city for them to be able to put ads tailored to us (as they did with Gmail and their adsense program)?

You know what? I'm beginning to see that in about 100 years from now, most, if not all, of Philip K Dick's fears and predictions for the future will come true. And in that 100 years, people will look back and think of him as some kind of prophet like Nostradamus. Most of what Nostradamus predicted was pretty vague, but then again, look at what fits in. PKD is being pretty vague in his messages, but look what's fitting in.
