A TEASER!

http://www.themoviebox.net/movies/2005/ ... railer.php

Wow, I am impressed. The animation technique they used is very original, and I think that it will be a good movie as well.. my initial worries have been exaggerrated, I think. Perhaps even Keanu will show some great acting, as well as other actors (the line up sounds pretty good). Looks like they have artistic value in mind as No. 1 priority.

I can't wait!

animation technique? they just ran it through a computer and "toon shaded" it. or is it animation? lol.

the "new" trailer isnt very new. it just looks like a rehash of re-edited footage. how sad. such a great movie is already getting poor marketing.

Ahem. What do you want, a blockbuster style marketing?
Then people would have impression it's just another Matrix or something.
It's produced by Warner Independent Pictures. That says pretty much.

independent or not, they could still get a better trailer and not advertise it as a new one.

yeah, overhype can be a bad thing. but right now its just word of mouth basically spreading the news around.

Hey, for the first time, I'll be able to watch a PKD film AFTER reading the book the first! It's been the other way round for all other PKD-based films :)

I can't imagine how the book will translate to screen - it's a pretty weird concept in the first place. I wonder how many will see it without any knowledge of the original story and think "What the hell was that all about!" :)

Or they might just look at it on a purely visual level and think "Nice cartoon, but I've no idea what's going on" - that could affect it's overall rating in the same way that Blade Runner is under-rated.

I know what they need - a VOICE-OVER version! Anyone got the phone number for 'Irvine the Explainer"? :)

It isn't released until 18 Aug in the UK, so I may have to avoid spoiler posts for a couple of months. They really ought to do simultaneous world-wide releases as standard nowadays - I'm fed up of having to wait 2 months to see a film that everyone has already discussed on the internet.

Sadly, they aren't showing it in any theatres near me. The closest one is about an hour and a half away. They were showing it for a bit in denver, but my schedule wasn't clear enough to see it, and now it's gone :( Oh well, i was definitely planning on buying the DVD anyway. There seems to be a lot of bonus material (documentaries and such) that will/should be included.
