Hey brothers I'm just posting cause as I was playing Br the other day I VK'd Bullet bob and he turned out to be a rep, so I did my duty and shot his face off his head. However McCoy did'nt give his I crossed the line speech so I guess it's not a glitch. <BR>Has anyone else turned up Bullet Bob as a replicant?

Bob Gorsky is the most uncertrain chcracter in the game, in fact I suspect that in each game he can be either rep or human, but it strongly depends on how do you question him during the VKing. It's hard to get any verdict from regular VKing, but if you tamper with the calibration gauge before testing, you can sometimes get the result easier (rep/human or indefinite result). <BR> <BR>If you shoot him after your VK machine has marked him as a rep, McCoy has no "crossed line" comment. <BR> <BR> <BR>_________________ <BR>"We need ya, Deck!"<!-- BBCode u2 Start --><A HREF="http://forum.br-insight.com" TARGET="_blank">Blade Runner Insight Forum</A><!-- BBCode u2 End --><BR><BR><font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: BR796164 on 2002-07-01 03:36 ]</font>

I'm getting confused at this Bullet Bob thing which seems to be the subject of discussion all over the place! <BR> <BR>So. Are we saying that if you shoot him without VKing him, you're definitely in trouble as it is assumed he is human? But, if you VK him he may be human or replicant - but is this true when you have a well-calibrated VK machine? i.e. if you've calibrated three times before VKing, is it still possible for him to be a replicant? <BR> <BR>And then, if the VK says he is a Rep, and you pop him, are you always in the clear?

McCoy has (being assured that he's retiring a rep) no comment then. However, possible further bad consequences are not fully clear to me. <BR>At certain point of the game you have a small conversation with Steele (after she rescues you from the underground and your spinner has been stolen). If you have killed a human in that game (the bum. fe), she can have a line "Is that true? Were you really shooting humans?" It would be interesting to examine whether she can have this line if you have killed Bob after he was convinced from being a rep... <BR> <BR><!-- BBCode Quote Start --><TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>But, if you VK him he may be human or replicant - but is this true when you have a well-calibrated VK machine? i.e. if you've calibrated three times before VKing, is it still possible for him to be a replicant?</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE><!-- BBCode Quote End --> <BR>It's very sad that the "manual" is so fairly informative and does not describe more closely how the calibration gauge works and in what way it can alter the result if you set it manually before questioning the subject. <BR>I have tested Bob with just one calibrating question as well as all three. It's worth of noticing that the gauge skips a few degrees higher after sthe second calibrating question, but what it is supposed to mean... <BR>I am sure that you can get different result from the test if you calibrate the machine just once and if you calibrate it with three questions. But in both ways, getting ANY result from testing Bob is very hard, since he's so... psychically unstable. <BR> <BR><!-- BBCode Quote Start --><TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>And then, if the VK says he is a Rep, and you pop him, are you always in the clear? <BR></BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE><!-- BBCode Quote End --> <BR>Yes, although... {see my reply on the first quote) <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>

I VK'ed Bullet Bob three times in a row, with him being detected as a Replicant. I shot him, but then later on in the game, Steele gave the "Were you really killing humans" line. I hadn't shot the homeless man or anyone other human, so I guess Bob is always a human

i ve tried as well to find out what is the case with bullet bob ...after many tries i found out these things:it does matter how many times u calibrate the machine especially with bob, u can tamper with the cursor that is in the middle where the response is beeing showed and there u can "fix" results but i ve never found bob a rep without tampering with the machine so i guess the 'problem' with bob is to find the right combination of questions...if u do then he is always human(my opinion) i dont know if anyone foyund bob rep without messing with the vk <IMG SRC="/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

That's just the awsome part of this game. you can play it over and over and over and over, and get different results every time. im playing this game for the second time now, and i just beat it a week ago. <BR> <BR>i only wish ALL games were like this (and Deus Ex)

My confusion from some time ago has been cleared up somewhat, partly from playing, partly from people proving their experiences both here and by e-mail. <BR> <BR>Yes, Bob can be a Rep even if your machine has been calibrated and you don't mess with it. If he is a Rep, you are entitled to retire him (though you might find it to your advantage not to.) If you kill him when you haven't got V-K evidence to prove he is a Rep, then you are a murderer. <BR> <BR>If nothing else, the whole Bullet Bob thing is what can give a good Blade runner a hint of doubt in what he is doing. Is the V-K machine to be trusted completely? Can a Human be classified as a Rep? And of course, the doubt creeps in and you start wondering what the justification for killing somebody is when they are just getting on with their lives as a Human would. (A bit of a nutter Human, of course, but there are plenty of them around...)
