A Collection of Making Of/Concept Art from the Game.

Hi there everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

The Blade Runner game is genuinely my favourite game of all time. I've played it and installed it on every single computer I've personally owned (and it's currently sitting very nicely on my Macbook Pro courtesy of Parallels!). I've achieved all the endings and thanks to this forum, I even found out about the extra Runciter scene that would have otherwise escaped me!

Having been on this forum for a while, I've been amazed at the amount of new things people discover or things that pop up on the net regarding the game.

Having seen a few posts earlier of concept art and other bits and bobs, I decided to do a bit of web trawling to find out more. Here's what I came up with. Some may have been mentioned on the site, so I apologise for repeating, but if any of you guys find something else I haven't please add to the thread and lets see if we can get a comprehensive list of game media for this amazing game.

There was a link to one of the artists Ren Olsen, I believe, a few posts down, so apologies for the repeat!

I like this one because it has an animated gif of some characters, one of which I haven't seen before.

The links below are from an Italian fansite that has some high resolution artwork, I don't know where they got them from, but there is one shot of McCoy's apartment that is to die for in terms of it's beauty. (it's been my wallpaper for years). The screenshots are lovely and high res and make great wallpapers!

http://rt000ixz.eresmas.net/codigo_spa/spcmapa.html - (some alternative artwork that must have been used for concept renders on this page, usually the first photo listed in each section is a high res one, the rest are just standard screenshots. The shot I love btw, is this one http://rt000ixz.eresmas.net/codigo/mccoyhouse.html

Making Of Videos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vebuL1cxkFs - A feature on the TV channel Bravo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym7NilMAwVA - The infamous westwood turf documentary
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwwi2oy6WWc - Lo-res making of documentary. I used to have this at a better resolution but don't anymore. Can someone help us out with that one?

I'm always looking for any media to do with the game. I even sometimes have the Chinatown track from the LA2019 album on in the background for ambience!

Thanks for reading,

Ryo

Great post! Organizing these sources into one "collection" is a nifty idea. :D

Wow, thanks for the kind replies!

I think that if anyone else finds something game related, we add it to this list and I can edit the post accordingly?

Also, I'm sure that someone out there must have the making of documentary in a higher resolution than is shown here. This would be the ultimate collectors gem (next to an original copy of the westwood soundtrack :D )

A lot of talented brilliant artists worked on the game and I would like to think we can honour them by showing their works stand the test of time and are still enjoyed today.

EDIT : Just found the whole gamespot preview!

Does anyone also have the "Behind the Scenes" booklet that was shipped with some copies of the game?

It's awesome to see that some people are still so enthusiastic about 12 years old game. Of course ryosan, feel free to update your list as you see fit. Even though this forum is more calm than active, rest assured that people still visit it, read it and find it useful. 8)

Thanks!

And boy have I found the holy grail of the Blade Runner game today!

http://www.kaboodle.com/jfuste/blade-ru ... -press-kit

One word that springs to mind instantly... "WANT"

The Press Kit! It had in it a full copy of the game and a VHS (ah... memories!) with the making of. Maybe that kind soul may one day encode and upload it in good quality for us to see.

Woah! I never knew such things existed!

I don't suppose it'd be lame to ask for pics. In your own time of course. It'd just be nice to have a collection of everything that was ever related to the making and marketing of the game.

Wow! Ridleyville, I am of course superbly jealous of your collection but also very honoured that we can finally see some really rare stuff of the game.

I love the cutout of McCoy in the Promo box. I have never seen that picture of him before.
