I don't like this - the character of McCoy is just too similar to Deckard - he wears similar coat like Deck, lives in the same house, has similar haircut...
Why the guys at Westwood made him look like this? Did they think that if the main character of the game will look different that Deckard, the fans won't appreciate it?

Look at other BRs - each has its own fashion taste, own habits and characteristic attitude. So I doubt that both McCoy and Deckard are not typical Blade Runner examples...

[ This Message was edited by: BR796164 on 2002-04-04 03:55 ]

...in order to satisfy the movie fans who consider Deckard as a typical prototype of a BR.

Well the game was created for fans and non fans of the original Blade Runner and the company, Westwood wanted to stay true to the Blade Runner feel and felt that fans would be more pleased with a character who was similar to the burnt out, detective type that Deckard was, only having him being a bit more fresh.

Furthermore, Westwood felt that people would want to play Deckard in the game but because of the ending of the movie and the fact that they wanted a all new story to be enjoyed by fans alike, they created a new character with similar looks and traits of Deckard to satisfy everyone. Makes sense to me anyway.

I dont have a problem with it, it gives a more well rounded character that fans of the film are sure to appreciate. The game might not have done as well if there was a more "unique" playable character that only appealed to certain types of people.

Gaff: "You've done a man's job, sir! I guess you are through?"

Deckard: "Finished".
