Full install still requires CDs?

Hi, first post, as I've just unearthed my old copy of Blade Runner! yay!

Installed the full install, which AFAIK means the game doesn't require any of the CDs to play...

however, when ACT2 starts I get a windows prompt saying "No CD inserted".
I have to insert disc 2 to continue, otherwise the game quits. If I then save a
game and try to load without CD2 inserted, it asks for the CD again.

Is there any solution to this?? I'll try the patch if I can find it...
(It also suffers the Shooting Range delay, but I'm not bothered by this)

Also, can I copy all 4 CDs to 1 DVD, and run the install/game from there.
I know CD2, 3, and 4 have their data in a single folder, but will the game
pick it up seeing as the disks will not be individually named: BLADE_1/2/3/4 ??

i.e. is there a way to convert the CD version to the DVD version of the game?

Thanks people! I loved this game so much, and it's still mighty fine!

Try re-installing the game and double checking you chose full install. I don't think the patch was writen to fix this kind of problem?

I'm not sure if burning all the CD's to 1 DVD will work, if you have a DVD-RW I would try it for sure. In my opinion it wont work because as you said it might not recognise the name of the CD's. Give it a shot though if you don't mind wasting a DVD -

Hi, thanks for the replys.

It's definitely the full install, but I'll try a reinstall for fun!

As for the "Mount All 4 CD-ROMs" thread, that concerns running the 4 seperate ISO files from your hard disk, using virtual drives. When copied to a single DVD, this is only for backup purposes, as the virtual drives will have to be created each time to play/install.

I'm looking at running the 4CDs directly from a single DVD, so that I can either play, or install, the whole game from a single disk. I have a DVD writer so I'll give it a go anyways! I'll let you know what happens! :D
