Is it wrong of me to automatically assume that Japanese roboticists would make a woman android first?

These news articles always remind me of Japanese roboticist Masahiro Mori's theory of The Uncanny Valley. As we get closer to truly anthropomorphic robots our sense of repulsion becomes overpowering, until the day they become indistinguishable and we regain our empathy for them.

Androids and empathy -- it does all sound rather familiar.

if we ever succeed in creating emotional machines that would prove that we are just machines too, complex ones
what about cloning could one reproduce oneself by cloning and by doing so live forever? Lets say an exact copy of me is created would that be me or would it be someone else?
just some thoughts i hope that doesnt sound too stupid

I downloaded that, and wouldn't recommend it... that is, if you're like me and don't enjoy watching a robot girl recoil while some guy polks her in the face. That was just too creepy... :?
