Honestly, and like you said i think well enough should be left alone, but if a sequel/remake/spinoff whatever was made i think Guy Pearce or Johnny Depp would make great blade runners.

) I wandered if he meant josh hartnett from the movie black dalia ,I think that would work and scarlet could return with him in this new br as rachel ,kind of like humphrey bogart and bacall returned together in a few or more movies,check out the movie The Big Sleep and comepare the scene with bogart talking to the lady that works at the book store to the one where harrison talks to zora , they both try to disquise their voice , ridley I think said someone had mentioned this but he couldn't remember the bogart movie that was mentioned.

They could always serialise Blade Runner; re-make it over eight one hour episodes, provided the budget was provided along with the right cast(that's the difficult one!) It would do the original justice and have time to develop the characters both human and Android.
Deckard is a troubled soul, I agree Josh Hartnet or hugh Jackman would do the role justice.

Rachel= Eva Green

Zora= Rosario Dawson

Tyrell= Christopher Walken

Pris= Mila Johovich or Kiera Knightly

Bryant= ?

Gaff= Cliff Curtis

Holden= Val Kilmer (see some of his later movies)

Leon= Karl Urban (not Keith)

JF Sebastian= Dustin Hoffman

how about josh hartnett as deck and nick nolte as bryant and/.. christopher walken as tyrell is brillant! hey..vin deisal as leon because he could have that "hey yo" look and still be unstoppable. This sounds great ,but if there was a sequel ,I'd rather it not be about the same characters deck and rach. but about other adventures of other bladerunners . They should leave it to the viewer to make the choice that deck was a replicant or not a replic. ,and not declare an answer in the sequel. I still don't think rid. should have said that deck was a replic. because I think the movie works different ways for different people,don't you agree. =D>

Christian Bale as Deckard. Or as I look around my room, Mr. Lance Henriksen, perhaps too old.

I like Eva Green for Rachel.

Any sequel could be about other Blade Runners hunting Deck and Rachael - but we never actually see them . . . they are always one step ahead of the pursuing Blade Runners.

That could be fun . . . . like a cross between The Fugitive, Cold Case Files and Blade Runner.
