Thanks for providing those links to the fan films, it will be cool to see
how they develop.

BR2 is the film that inspired me to write and direct The Blade Runner Chronicles. Not in a positive way either. I just could not believe they were calling that thing a blade runner film!

It was a college project ( a short film) I think, that ended up on ifilm, or atom films or something. I watched it a long while ago, 2 years ago I think, and it was aweful. Just painfully bad.

I got a copy of Natural City from ebay, and it has a few shots that are moody with neon, lots of rain. It also has a lead character in love with the android he's supposed to hunt and kill. That's about where the comparisons stop.

The lead character is a heavily armored swat cop or something, not a noir style detective.

Also, it's an over the top asian style action film. Think Ghost in The Shell, and Jin-Roh.

It's worth a look. The only place I have seen it for sale is on ebay though.

I am not sure why you pointed these two movies out? I believe they were looking for fan films and spoofs.

although these are also two of my favorite movies as well. :)

I'm currently making Bladder Run, a spoof.

Our plot follows Rex Dickard as he attempts to track down the Replicas. They are Ray Botty, Junior Kawalski (think "OK George" and thats Junior), Pritt (a really sticky customer) and Nora. Dickard is aided - or maybe hindered by Guff - a cop who speaks complete gibberish; he just can't speak coherently and messes up his words. He calls Dickard "Mr Bladder Run" hence the title of the movie.

Although this is a comedy (well I HOPE its funny) we are taking this movie very seriously, filming at interesting locations, lighting professionally with Aari equipment, and filming in full 1080 HD. We have green screen capabilities and model work - the "Hades" landscape is taking shape in my garage at the moment!

Once completed the movie will be posted on our website - the still gestating www.bladderrun.com - and will be dent out free of charge (apart from the cost of a disc and postage) to any fans anywhere in the world. We hope that a Sapnish soundtrack will be an option in honour of Joan Furste a regular of these parts. We have a semi professional artist completing the movie poster for us and a composer working on a score. Effects such as laser blasts will be added in post production.

I too have seen the so called "fan films" and many people dont take their productionseriously - no costumes, sets props or rehersals (Im talking the Blade Runner ones Ive seen not the high end stuff that is amazing in other genres like that Batman vs Predator film) and people seem to laugh and mess about on camera. Mine is different. Ive engaged actors not friends. I just hope we can do justice to Blade Runner. My dream is to send ridley Scott a Blu Ray and not have him take out a contract on my life!
