Blade Runner (The Budget Cut)

If anyone is interested, I've home-edited the film. My version has got most deleted scenes spliced-in with some movie scenes cut out for continuity and alternate scenes added.

The film runs at 1hr 59 mins with the bulk of the end credits cut off so it would squeeze onto a DVD. The picture & sound quality isn't 100%, but it's not far off.

If you're a BR fan, I'm sure you'll appreciate what I've done. I'm not a pro, i just did this with very cheap software & Microsoft Movie Maker.

If anyone wants a copy, drop me an email, PayPal me a donation for postage etc and i'll whack a copy in the post for you.

Yes, I really live in Los Angeles. Srsly. And yeah, life really does imitate art here. Especially now we've got those video billboards. No spinners yet. But I suppose that's next.

Just watched this last night. Nice work Barney!

It was really good seeing such a different version of the movie. It's made me want to create my own edit. If only I had the time. Barney's version is quite different from what I imangine I would put together, but it works really well. I was particularly interested by the switched order of the scenes around Leon's death, and Deckard buying the Tsing Tao. It actually works quite well. Of course, Barney's crammed in lots of the deleted material and it's really cool to see all that in context with the rest of the movie even if only to make it clearer why some of it was cut.

Thanks again Barney!

Interesting, during the late 90´s i had a idea to make a VCD cut(using a divx file with the director s cut print),its more
interesting now if you make a fan-edition cutting and adding some deleted scenes, yes,Microsoft movie maker is good to edit(no,im not making a advertisment),i did some videos with it.

Hey B-263-55,

This sounds cool. Would the DVD work to watch in an Xbox 360?

Thanks.

I just finished watching Barney's cut. I enjoyed it very much and it was nice having another experience of Blade Runner again. It must have taken a lot of time and effort to put it all together, you did a great job Barney.

I enjoyed the extensions you made to scenes, such as when Deckard is going to his apartment in his ground car (before he meets Rachael in the elevator), I particularly enjoyed the extended Leon hotel room scene. And like Brendan said, the switch scene of Leon's death worked well.

Thanks again :)
