Excuse me for being thick, is it a standard print shown in IMAX, or has it been converted to IMAX for this theatre?
all text is the view from myself and has no bearing or opinion of Bladezone.

Standard print I assume...they're calling it a "Digital Cinema Presentation" rather than "IMAX Experience". Would it even be possible to convert Blade Runner to IMAX?

With what I've read about IMAX so far in mind I'd say:

Convert yes, UP-convert, no:

True (analogue) IMAX is 10000 x 7000 pixels (yes, boys and girls, it's true: the world's best resolution longest running film format, until they will downgrade it to digital ;-), Blade Runner Final Cut has been produced at 4000 pixels wide, if I'm not mistaken.

So there's a huge difference still, it would look soft projected to the full width of the IMAX screen (which they never do with movie conversion anyway - correct me anybody if I'm wrong) and you would have to letterbox the film on the IMAX screen, which is poor showmanship at best...

Bye,
Martin
