Just to be clear:

The Final Cut transfer that is on the DVD is exactly the same as it was (and is) during its recent theatrical run. So all of the comments you've heard regarding the picture and sound from the restoration represent how it will look and sound on DVD. So if you liked the way The Final Cut looked and sounded in theaters, your opinion shouldn't change based on the DVD.

The Archival Versions of the film (Theatrical, International, Director's Cut and Workprint) all follow the original color-timing that you've become accustomed to over the years. Just keep in mind that Ridley wasn't involved in those transfers, which is why there's a difference between those versions and the Final Cut.

I wish DVDRama had posted matching frames from the Archival Versions to show you this.

It's clear to me, Charles, and in fact, I'll send your comments to DVDBeaver to head off any similar criticisms on this side of the Atlantic.

And again, the FC (in the theatre) looked gorgeous--much better than the (obviously compressed) stills at DVDRama suggest.

just saw the FC Friday night in San Fran and i'm with you deepysea - i am just blown away. i went to see it with a buddy who simply likes BR and even owns a copy. after the credits rolled, he looks at me and says "so what was different?" i spent the next 2 hours going over the differences, fixes, clean-ups, and polishings ... i loved the subtle extra bits before and after the scenes we all have committed to memory so when i saw a bit of a handle this or that side of a scene that i hadnt seen before, i was tripping to say the least. it was subtle at times but kept me very excited. more than the reshooting and the airbrushing i think the most memorable thing that consistently leapt out at me was the new exposure and clarity! i never knew all that set design down the street from the Bradbury existed nor did i ever see the street from Deckard's balcony before! it was AWESOME! i felt like i just had cataract surgery!!! what a treat ... still reeling and cant wait for my ultimate collection to ship!

I caught the first hour of the FC again on my lunch break today, and I paid particular attention to the color. Suffice it to say that the early scenes seemed solidly blue to me--not greenish at all. I'm not sure what kind of compression DVDRama used for their pictures, but I think they're off from the transfer's actual colors, and this review bears that out:

Edit: I should note that I was referring to the theatrical print.

as much as i know, i think the color shifting is noticeable in the FC only. the other versions would look pretty much the same as they always did (orange/copper sky, blue Holden/VK). probably i'm wrong, since i haven't watched it at theaters neither on DVD (FC) but i think that's what they meant in this thread.

hopefully the colors aren't those shown at DVDRama...

Wow, what a dramatic difference between the CE director's and the remastered director's cut of that shot where Deckard finds Pris.

Yeah, that shot's a definite improvement, but I'm a bit mixed on some of the others.

yep, one is red, one is... green! how can this happen? anyway, i don't trust much those snaps, i've seen the FC on theater last night and those snaps are light years away from what we can see there. they're so dark and muddy here, while in the real FC are so clear and "readable".
ii suggest you guys/girls not to care about these snaps comparisons and just enjoy the real FC.

Having seen the FC now on the DVD set, I can breathe a sigh of relief and state that though there are some changes in colur tone throughout the film they are an improvement and not as strange/extreme as the French website suggested. Frankly the FC blew me away and I felt that I finally saw the 'proper' Blade Runner. Charles you did a mans job, sir!
