Something struck me as a bit odd...

(Warning: scene spoilers!)

That was just bloodied tissue paper he was pulling out of his nose, yes?

Looked like that, or a cotton ball.

In any event we now know his rank in the force.

Veryvery interesting!! Now I know where that photo of Rachel comes from!
I also think that this scene has a very strong sexual allusion that maybe the producers decided to cut off! The long close up on the naked legs of Rachel and on the wounded face of Deckard don't fit well with the romantic atmosphere of that scene, so it's nice to see that Scott didn't insert it in the final cut.
Anyway, it's amazing to see that after 25 years this movie has so many other hidden treasures to be discovered!
In my opinion those 47 minutes, a kind of sixth version (together with the work print one), will be worth this long waiting!!!!

Which poses another challenge (it's been discussed a bit in another thread): What to whatch first on our holy grail, erm, 5 disc set?

I decided a moment ago, _not_ to watch the 47 minutes "deleted" movie first. I'll work myself up: Maybe the FC with commentary (a bit more new footage, carefully edited back in not to spoil the film), the documentary (even a bit more new footage), _then_ the workprint (first radically different view of the Blade Runner universe), and _finally_ the 47 minutes of jaw-dropping footage, if this example is of any indication what's in store for us (according to Charles it sure is). :-)

BTW Charles: If you have the time and mood to do so, could you please comment on my observations regarding the IMHO bits left uncorrected in the FC in the Viennale thread? I would be so happy to hear your opinion on this, thanks a bunch!

Have a better one,
Martin

I wonder how long Scott worked melticulously on the placement of her legs? And then all for naught as it has been this long to see it. Whut a waste! I agree the nose tampon does dampen my libido. The sprawling legs they should have kept, but they did the right thing with that nasal extraction.

I would love to see someone edit all of these scenes together in some ultimate fan cut.

All these scenes seem to be already edited in a unique smaller movie inside the 4th disc of the box set.
The feature "deleted scenes" is actually a kind of alternative version of Blade Runner based on the footage excluded by Ridley Scott: different angles, a never heard before voice over of Harrison Ford we can listen in that clip, longer sequences, a scene with reference to the family of Deckard, the sequence of Leon inside his apartment, and much more as someone wrote in this forum in july just few days after the Comic con convention.

Wow. I would've actually enjoyed the original version's voice over if they'd used the tone and the type of content we see here.
