I haven't seen any other postings with this in mind so forgive me if it's already been discussed. That being said... Has anyone posted a Wishlist of extras they'd like to see on the Blade Runner 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD?

Hopefully staff involved in the production of the SE dvd will hear what the fans want.

Personally I'd love if there were a music only audio track (like they did for "Alien")so we can finally hear every glorious note from Vangelis. This would also end the ridiculously overpriced bootlegs.

Any other ideas?

It will of course have remastered sound (5.1 obviously, maybe DTS as Ridley seems to favour that?) and picture, and the rest is speculation..the visible wires taken out, some dubbing fixed, Roy Batty's first scene in the telephone booth fixed (reversed moment from when he's on the bed beside Tyrell, to me this looks out of place), some flabs regarding incept dates fixed, the documentary 'The Edge of Blade Runner' and loads of deleted scenes including Holden in the hospital etc (though I wouldn't like this to be re-inserted into the main movie). Perhaps a commentary from Scott, Rutger, Daryl, Olmos, Syd Mead, Hampton Fancher, David Snyder, Douglas Trumbull and Paul M . Sammon (doubt if Harrison would get involved - what do you think?).

Anyway I am looking forward to this like no other, and if I've got the above completely wrong, I hope it's because its even BETTER, because this stunning movie deserves the best..

Though Ridley said he wouldnt, i really would like to see the Original Cut allong with the DC and this new version hes been talking about. He may not like it, but many fans do and i think we should be given the choice.

Well, hopefully, everything that we got on the Alien DVD
(Trailers, Deleted Scenes, Outtakes, Directors Comintary [by god that was good], Artwork and photo galleries, storyboards, isolated original score, alternate music track), and, hopefully, On the Edge of Blade Runner and maybe, just maybe, the option to view either the original Cut, the DC, or (please please please) the workprint, (you know, kinda like in the Region 1 Terminator 2 DVD).

Well, I would be enormously surprised if the OV wasn't on the 3-disc set quite frankly.

Thing is, if RS and CdL had their way, you'd get everything you could possibly want on the DVDs.

RS has certainly intimated that he would be happy to put the WP, the OV, the DC and the new SE onto the DVDs.

See the latest BR:SE news at BRmovie.
Ahhh... ahhh!!! Too many shortend phrases!!!
DC, RS, SE, naaaaaaa!!!

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the pre=production artwork, and maybe sime of the props up close, as they were really detailed (like the magazines on the news stand).

_________________

"Louie. I'd like to see all versions of the film, deleted scenes, commentaries, artwork, documentaries, etc, in a boxed set that includes a life-size, inflatable Pris.

Yeah, I'd like that.

A life-sized inflatable Pris! Now there's an idea I don't think Ridley Scott has mentioned.

For those who might have been confounded by my previous post with its plethora of acronyms, I was just saying that Ridley Scott and Charlie de Lauzirika (producer of the DVD) have both expressed the desire to put as much as possible on the discs for the Blade Runner fans. So if something isn't there, it isn't necessarily because they didn't want to include it.

Scott has expressed a few of his desires for the DVDs in interviews, although I hasten to add the warning that at this point this doesn't mean anything definite at all. It seems he wouldn't mind including the WorkPrint, the Original Version, the Director's Cut and the new Special Edition Cut onto the DVDs. Now, I would be enormously surprised if all four did make it through the final decisions and I'm not sure I see any point including the 1992 DC when Scott is making his real definitive cut.

However, it seems likely the OV will be included, plus documentaries, commentary, deleted scenes and picture gallery (as on the laserdisc?).
I'm hopeing this new cut is something akin to the 'Final Cut', which was basicly the workprint all cleaned up.

I wouldn't mind seeing a LITTLE bit of CGI. Just like Star Wars gave us a better look of Tattoine (?-spelling) as the land speeder entered the space port, it would be cool to see an ariel shoot of a spinner flying through a much bigger, CGI of L.A..

But as you say - only a touch, perhaps seamless branching should be used in this case and to insert the extra violence (hopefully not integrated branching as per R2 DVD of Robocop. I could do without pauses throughout Blade Runner)

Lets hope they don't change it too much, like they did with Star Wars. Greedo doesn't shoot first, damnit!

I would just like to see every scene that was cut out, and perhaps a fix or two. I don't really care about whether the sound is in 5.1 or whatever, but I guess it would be nice anyway.

Oh, and I would definetly like to see CGI-edited scenes, like every scene that has a spinner with the wrong lighting and so on...and the Zhora stunt double must be fixed (when Deckard shoots her and she runs through the glass doors/windows/whatever), cause it's so damn annoying to see that (ugly) stunt woman's face

And yes, Han Solo shoots first. He's a smuggler dammit, he's got no moral qualms about shooting someone who points a gun at him.

[ This Message was edited by: daoloth on 2002-03-05 19:40 ]

I also hope they come in either a widescreen or full screen versions. Im sick of all these widescreen dvds. I just got A.I. the movie today and it comes in both widescreen and full screen.

Daoloth, "spinner with wrong lighting" - you mean the visible cables?
