I don't want to worry you, ghost, but check out this page from HMV.

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/comingSoon. ... tiaryID=-1

If you go to the previous page, you can see that the release is still there for 3 December. The only difference I can see is the lack of the spinner key ring. :-k

I think I'll watch the Final Cut first, then maybe the 45-min version, followed by the Dangerous Days doc. Gotta be the Workprint after that, maybe then again but with the commentary. Perhaps then some of the featurettes or straight back to the Final Cut and the Ridley commentary...

As followup to this previous post, when the DVD set comes out on Dec. 18, here's what my lifelong best friend / BR afficionado & I will be doing:

We're gonna watch the 45-min. Deleted Scenes reel first. Then we'll watch the Deleted Scenes reel again. Then we'll watch the Deleted Scenes reel a third time. Then we'll check out the 3-hour Dangerous Days documentary. Then we'll watch the Deleted Scenes reel a fourth time. Then we'll skip over to the workprint and fast-forward to all the super-cool rare bits. Then we'll watch the Deleted Scenes reel a fifth time. Then we'll watch the FC with commentary. Then we'll watch the Deleted Scenes reel a sixth time. Then we'll check out all the remaining sure-to-be-unbelievably-awesome bonus content features, and watch the Deleted Scenes reel a seventh time. Then we'll go out to lunch - or maybe just order in, and watch the Deleted Scenes reel three more times. Then we'll spend the rest of the evening doing an intensive BR detox program, in the company of the just-released Stanley Kubrick letterboxed-DVD set.

Everybody got that?

That sounds like fun! I may just have to watch the deleted scenes a few dozen times myself.

Well you just got me worried! I just KNEW that after all these years there would be another spanner in the works! Fingers crossed it's an HMV error, but I hope someone out there can confirm whats really going on. Doubt I can shift my leave back a week.

I wonder if the limited cinema release on the 23rd Nov might be a reason for this- there is supposed to be some law regards the gap between cinema releases and video sales here in the UK. Anybody know?

i think i'll be taking about a whole day just to plan out the whole Ultimate Collection watching session
then i'll be multiple-watching the discs in a total dark room, with chips and Coke supply for weeks and cell phone turned off. no people allowed.

oh at last i'll have a GOOD reason to trash my pornos...

A few minutes ago Amazon Uk confirmed to me via email that the box set will be dispatch on 3th december and that there isn't change in the release date. I hope it will be true as I know I will have to wait at least (maybe) a week before receiving it.

OT: I'm very close to your place Planta....
:)

Regards

You can rest easy, ghost, I e-mailed HMV and got the following reply:
Thanks for your email, regarding the release date for Blade Runner: The Final Cut.

I understand where the confusion was upon you seeing the release date different.

Your order is:

Blade Runner: Final Cut: Ultimate Collectors Edition: 5dvd: Ltd: Special Packaging. The release date is 3/12/07.

The item you saw was:
Blade Runner: Final Cut: Ultimate Collectors Edition: 5dvd. The release date for this is 10/12/07.

So the your order is for the release on 3/12/07, were sorry if it was not clear enough for you, but i hope that you are satisfied with how your query was answered.

Kind Regards,

Online Customer Service Team

So if, like me you ordered the special (with the free spinner keyring \:D/ ) then you'll be ok. :D
