No Briefcase for UK, we get a poxy TIN !!!!

There will be no fantastic briefcase collectors set for the UK, we are going to get a tin like the the remastered Directors German DVD.
Also The Final Cut will not be showing at the London Film Festival but there may be a very short limited run to coincide with the December release of the DVD.
How disappointing, i might put on my own showing on the big screen if they don't.

as it stands, i have to buy the `tin` to do a review, and Gary Willoughby will have to review the rest of the `master briefcase` himself.

I got an email from a spanish visitor today, it seems that there will be a 5-disc release with suitcase (including a spanish dubbed audiotrack for the first time) released in Spain which I guess also means the rest of europe

I would not be surprised if the Spanish dub made it onto the R1 release. Or that maybe there would be a R1 Espanol release of the 2-disc version. Edward James Olmos is an icon here in LA amongst Latinos.
Blade Runner: El Corte Final will be available to those whose first language is Spanish. Bet on it.

I think there might be issues with region coding with Blu-ray discs.

Yes there would be a problem as the Blu-ray disc would be region coded.
At the moment though HD DVD discs are not region coded, yet.

As far as I understand Warner Bros. Blu-Ray discs are not regionaly encoded (but then again, you might want to check that out)

I think you are correct.
I did some research and it would seem that at the moment Warner Blu-ray discs are region free, although I can find no definitive company statement that confirms this.
Amazon.com has the briefcase version listed as ?All regions? but listings like that are far from reliable. I suppose if I want the briefcase version I will have to take a chance that?s its going to be a Blu ray region free release.

Contrary to DVD, the Blu-ray Disc region coding system divides the world into only 3 regions, called regions A, B and C. The usage of region coding on a Blu-ray Disc movie title is a publisher's option. A Blu-ray Disc player will play any movie title that does not have region coding applied, plus all titles of its corresponding region.
Region A:
- North America
- Central America
- South America
- Korea
- Japan
- South East Asia
Region B:
- Europe
- Middle East
- Africa
- Australia
- New Zealand
Region C:
- Russia
- India
- China
- Rest of World

None of Europe will be getting the Briefcase, it is only going to be made available in the USA.
On Another note it seems that the USA Blu-ray will not be region coded.
I am a little confused though because i was told the 5 disc collectors set in Blu-ray has only 2 blu-ray discs and 3 standard DVD?
