Sure they already posted it in the other thread, "deleted," that's where I got it; does it really matter who posted it first? Who cares? My point is, this is the first brand new unearthed BR footage in 7 years, since OTEOBR's release in 2000, and as far as I'm concerned it deserves a lot better treatment & more attention than just being buried a few pages in an online thread, as if it was only another routine bit of reportage in the endless stream of weblinks this week.

I cannot even BELIEVE these images, never would've even begun to imagine they'd existed. I'm just completely at a loss for words. This new DVD set is truly too good to be true.

This totally made my Saturday. The new footage is absolute exquisite. I love the new unicorn sequence with the alternate angles on Ford.

Not to mention, I love with what they did with the sound! The unicorn neighs this time.

I compared the new Zhora chase with the director's cut. The new one is slightly longer and it develops better suspense. Check out to verify.

Finally, is it possible to download this?

I've been trying to download it...no luck so far. I'm miffed that the shot of Deckard running is not actually in that scene. Also, please tell me the shot of him un-choking himself will be in there...

I've checked, the length is the same. However, as we know, Cassidy's face is now digitally painted on the stunt doubles, also, the gunshot sound is definitely new. Some of the other sounds appear to be redone.

If it's not, you always have the workprint.

That 'metaphysics' shot of Gaff looks as good as the other stuff... bet it's in the film! Was he originally present in the video/briefing room? That looks like where he is.

(I always thought Gaff would be the key to a compelling BR sequel - too bad Jeter had him killed before his book even began! )

That's why I don't count the Jeter books as canon.

it was nice to see the hockey mask scene in a version other than the dodgy WP version. i have no doubt i`ll buy the biggest baddest box set i can find!

I was really stunned with the previously cut scene of Gaff, that was really cool! Do you think he was talking to Bryant or Deckard?

A few notes:

For those who haven't seen it yet, Yahoo clip # 4, "Dancing", is actually a direct duplicate of a sequence featured in the original BR workprint. Looks like they took the original sequence and transposed it directly over to the Final Cut, albeit with full digital restoration. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Also, in answer to the earlier question of where the new scene with Gaff is from, I did a little digging and found this scene in the Fancher/Peoples version of the screenplay dated Feb. 23, 1981; it takes place right after the scene where Batty and Pris talk Sebastian into helping them get access to Tyrell (in Sebastian's 'living room'), which is then followed by another scene of Deckard talking to Holden in his hospital room, and then the following scene occurs. INT. BRYANT'S OFFICE - DAY

A TV monitor FILLS THE SCREEN. Holden is continuing to
lecture Deckard on the TV screen.

HOLDEN
You got the feelings, pal, not her.
You f*cked a washing machine...
then you switched it off. So what?
You cry when you turn the lights
out at night?

Now we see Bryant. He's sitting in a chair chewing a
big cigar and glaring at the screen.

BRYANT
It's pitiful is what it is. A
couple of old blade runners trying
to grapple with metaphysics... You
gonna turn out that way, Gaff?

GAFF
I piss on metaphysics. My middle
name is 'death.' See this foot...
(holds up his foot)
... completely lethal! Savate!
French foot fighting. See these
hands...!

Bryant interrupts the display, unimpressed.

BRYANT
You think he knows where she is?

GAFF
(shrugs)
Maybe. Maybe not. Deckard's a
deep one. You gimmee the
promotion, maybe I'll find her.
If I get a promotion...

BRYANT
Shut up!

Bryant is looking back at the screen, intensely inter-
ested.

On the screen Holden is wheezingly explaining something
to Deckard.

HOLDEN
... then they bust into the record
room at the Tyrell Corp... that
doesn't work! They put that big
bozo... whatsitsname...

DECKARD
Leon.

HOLDEN
... they put him in to infiltrate
Tyrell Corp... that doesn't work!
They go after that eye designer,
the Chinaman...

DECKARD
Chew.

HOLDEN
... that doesn't work!

Bryant is all attentiion, staring at the screen in
suspense.

Gaff is watching, too.

DECKARD
Work! Whaddaya mean 'work.'

HOLDEN
Don't you see what they're after,
who they're looking for?

On the screen Deckard frowns and shakes his head.

DECKARD
No. Who?

Bryant is on the edge of his seat.

HOLDEN
God!

Bryant stares at the screen dumbfounded. Then his jaw
sags open in disbelief.

BRYANT
God!

Gaff shakes his head, smirking.

GAFF
Metaphysics.

BRYANT
God?

Bryant looks about to erupt.

I doubt that Gaff scene is going to be in the Final Cut. Based on that script, it takes you away from the atmosphere and it's quite redundant narrative-wise. However, that's not stopping me from seeing it and you can bet your @ss that it's in the deleted scenes section.
