he doesnt sound too positive about it. "i think" doesnt sound reassuring of it's release.

they month i stop watching AOTS is the mont they have all the good content. go figure. from the sounds of it though, the SEDVD sounds just like the directors cut. the elevator ending, no voice overs. hopefully with an audio commentary and bonus features that we were promised.

xmen 1.5, now spider-man 2.5, lion king 2 1/2 (2.5). wtf!!!??? new fad in hollywood?

i think a lot of people like this are full of sh!t. come on, blade runner being his favorite movie? gimme a break. im sure if it was his favorite movie, he would have tried his hardest to get it out earlier. its like peter jackson saying hes a big halo fan. watch that video of him talking about how excited he is at (executive) producing halo and look at him, he has NEVER played halo in his life. it's blatantly obvious.

whislt we would all love a totally new cleaned up version of the film, the holy grail to me has to be all the extras, on the edge of blade runner is indeed a classic documentary, but when i say extras, i guess i really mean extra scenes, deleted scenes and alternate cuts such as found in the workprint.

even if they were presented as extras not in the film.. im sure my adobe premierepro is up for the challenge :)

Ditto for me - at some point I will create my own custom version of Blade Runner and edit it the way I want it - which is basically the directors cut with some voice over and additional scenes only found in the workprint (which, BTW, I havent seen yet). :D

umm, if you havent seen it, how could you know there's scenes you want?

Well, I've only seen photo stills of the girls in hockey masks dancing outside The Snakepit and I know for sure I'll be including those! 8)

the problem for all of us would-be hollywood directors at home, is that format of the source material, ie the films are generally hi-res anamorphic prints, where as the extras are either full screen or letterbox, making cut`n`paste style editing almost impossible

well, nothings impossible, it just looks a pigs ear.. i should know! look at my demo.

it seems to me, for the last 20 years, we have all been scrounging around for ridleys table scraps. if the holy grail of all edits, the workprint, with extras ever see`s the light of day, would that not make all our forums, editing and the such obselete?

we might not have anything else too look forward too?

good point, but i think we will - even after an SE release, find something to bitch about!

and there are always more 'extras' than what they'll actually give us.... hell, if its any indication, last time i checked there were over 26 different (recognized) BR soundtrack bootlegs. and it doesnt look like they are slowing down.

i'd expect to see a 50th anniv. SE as well...

yeah, well always find something new to want. but im pretty happy as is, only thing i really want for the SE dvd is a freakin audio commentary by ridley scott and optional syd mead. this and a new transfer with better sound.

I actually have edited up a custom version of my own. I think it's been done before too, but I did it myself by mixing the Critereon LD edition with the Director's Cut. I kept the voiceover, left in the unicorn, and deleted the happy ending -- but I actually like all three versions. :P

in regards to the `holy grail` box of used/un-used clip marked to be destroyed, i hear that ridley has this box in his possesion, though, as well all know too bloody well, the legal bit it where use of these clips end.

how about we ask Ridley, should the WP not be granted for release, if the clips could become `available` ?!?!

that way he can shaft the person who shafted him in the first place?? and the blame is them put on bootleggers.

YEEEEHHHAAAARRRR
