Can anyone tell me what Gaff is saying to Deckard in this scene?
From my understanding, he starts out in French, then he busts out in Hungarian, but that is all I can make out.
I can speak a little French and I also know Japanese, Spanish and English, but I can't make out for the life of me what the rest of the dialogue means.

The language element of the film is what attracted me to the film, more specifically the "cityspeak" aura of it. If some one can hlep me out, or point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

in future noir it states that the writer david peoples and gaff Ed J Olmos dont remember exactly what was said but heres what most people agree on what is said

Gaff: "You will be required to acompany me, sir."
Sushi master: "He say you under arest, Mr. Deckard."
Deck: " You got the wrong guy pal."
Gaff: "Horse dick! So you say. You are the blade... Blade Runner"
Sushi: "He say you Brade Runna!"
Deck: "Tell him im eating."
Gaff: "Captian Bryant ordered me to bring you in"
Deck: "Bryant, huh?"

i think that the script calls for him to simply speak japanese and the advent of cityspeak was something done after the script was finished

I'm pretty sure there was some Hungarian in there, not all Japanese, and the cop that's with him is speaking Korean.

Deckard!s voiceover in the OV says that he knew verz well what was Gaff talking about in the bar, he just didn't want to make his "arresting" so simple.

Gaff: Monsieur, azonnal k?vessen engem bitte. [French-Hungarian-German: "Sir, follow me immediately please!" (Thanks to eMU for translating the Hungarian part:- "azonnal" - means immediately; "k?vessen" - means follow imperative; "engem" - means me. And of course "Monsieur" is French for Sir and "bitte" is German for please.)]

Gaff: L?faszt, nehogy m?r. Te vagy a Blade ... Blade Runner. [Hungarian: "Horsedick, no way! You are the Blade ... Blade Runner."]

Sushi Master: He say you 'Brade Runner'.

Deckard: Tell him I'm eating.

Gaff: Captain Bryant toka. Me ni omae yo. [Japanese: "Captain Bryant wants to see your mug in front of his immediately!" (This is a loose translation. "Me ni omae yo" is a sort of pun. "Me ni mae" means to meet someone. "omae" is the very informal use of "you" - in Japanese, this is significant. "yo" - Exclamation - Japanese doesn't use the '!' punctuation.]

Deckard: Bryant, huh?

Gaff: Hai! [Japanese: "Yes!"]

I highly recommend you get a copy of Paul M. Sammon's "Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner" it's an excellent analysis of the film and goes into fine details about scenes just like this city talk sushi bar one...

Is it true that NA never received a harcover edition?

There are some questions as to the dialog in the car. In both the theatrical and Director's edition you can see them talking but you don't know what they are saying. There are some records though of the proposed dialog:

still eating from his bowl with chopsticks as Gaff
maneuvers the spinner through the city canyons chat-
tering in rapid Japanese.

this myself. Just move me up.
I'll do the job, I told him. Five
phonies. I just air 'em out.
(he imitates shooting)

Deckard looks at Gaff uncomprehendingly.

The spinner flies low along the center of a busy
street and then turns right.

Awesome translation. Though very much different from the script (off a link up top). Why is that? Also in the script, Gaff is spose to be Japanese. Is he in the movie?
