I'm planning a trip to L.A. and I wanted any thoughts on these locations.

Well, I wrote it, so I guess that counts as taking it....

Actually, I planned the whole thing on the spur of the moment, so it's pretty easy. If you don't do the Ennis-Brown house, it's really, really cheap and you can do it really, really quickly, if you want.

You normally can't get into the the main room at Union Station (you can stand at the entrance, though, and see everything). However, I understand that you can make a request to get in and take pictures. I believe you have to make the request during normal M-F business hours, becuase they have to send a security guard in with you.

If you do that, you'll be able to walk to other end and take pictures from the angle seen in the film. Otherwise, you'll be looking at it from "Deckard's POV" as he walked into the station.

I'd like to hear how it went!

Taken me awhile but i bought plane tickets for LA and I'm taking that tour on May 8th. Will have pictures!

Much like BenMund, I too put together my own little BR excursion a while back. It was awesome! I visited all the places mentioned in the web article, with the addition of going to China town and having noodles for lunch.

The Bradbury building only allows visitors to take pictures from the first floor and a halfway point on the staircase going to the second floor. You have to work in the building or be there on business in order to go all the way up.
**HERE?S A TIP!**: Discretely, slip the security guard $5, and tell him that all you want to do is ride up the antique elevator and come right back down. That?s what I did! It was worth it just for the sake of riding in the same elevator that the actors rode in. And the view from the top is nice too.

As for Union Station, try to go during the non-rush commute time (between 10am and 3pm, during the week). The place will be practically empty. But I asked a security person, VERY NICLEY, that I just wanted to take a quick picture inside the main hall, and the jerk still wouldn?t let me in! So I waited a few minutes till he walked away, and then I slipped in and took my picture. If caught, the worst thing they can do is just tell you (in a rudely manner) to leave, especially if they see you?re just a ?tourist?.

I take it all this happened before 9 11??? i am not so sure security is so lax now days...
