i was just watching "the screensavers" today (a computer show) and they mentioned classic sci-fi movie props being put up on ebay. one of the hosts, and i quote them word for word "and the handgun used by Harrison ford in BLADE RUNNER is being put up" and the other host replies "oh, i'd love that."
mind you, this show is watched by millions, and i'd expect to see some new fans coming in because of this, lol (j/k). just thought you'd want to know.
and, ALIEN was on today. Get this: remember when they were deporting from the the big mother ship, and thet detached from that arm thingy ? next time you watch it, look at the computer screens. theres a computer scene in there used in the "spinned takeoff scene" in the beginning of blade runner. an ALIEN/BLADE RUNNER tie-in.

Yeah - some stuff was carried over from Alien and used in Blade Runner - if my memory serves me correctly they also used parts of the scenery from the medical bay in Alien in Deckard's kitchen and the 'missing' hospital scene.
I really need to get the Bladezone 'tie-ins' section sorted out...
...I've got DVD grabs of spinner shots from 'Soldier', 'Trancers', 'Solar Crisis' and 'Back to the Future' to go in.

The Profiles in History/ Ebay auction went pretty well with the
A. Rubber Stunt Blaster (1 of 14 perhaps) selling for a staggering $17,000 with 19 bids.
B. Zhora Raincoat (pre blood sqibs) selling for $1600 with 2 bids.
C. Police License plate (not a police license plate) selling for $2500 .
D. Tyrell Graphic Mat selling for $6500 with 21 bids
E. Sean Young dress selling for $25,000. yes that is thousand.
F. Illuminated Glasses were not sold at $1500. no bids
G. Tyrell Building Panel was not sold at $1500. no bids
H. Vehicle license plate was not sold at $2,000 no bids
I emailed Profiles in History to see if they would accept offers, the answer was "only if at or above the reserve price".
The prices I feel were very high, though some out there thought the money was well spent I suppose. I probably should have bid on the Zhora Raincoat. I would have liked the glasses but to me they might be worth maybe $500.

Here quoteth from thine holy Blade Runner FAQ:
When Gaff picks up Deckard, the launch sequence on the computer is the same one used in Scott's "Alien", where the escape pod separates from the Mother ship. The black-and-white display of the VK machine was also used as a wall display in "Alien". When Deckard enters his apartment at the end, the background hum is the same distinctive hum as in parts of "Alien". The cigarettes smoke in BR are the same yellow colour as the ones in "Alien".
Notice that both "Alien" and BR have "artificial persons", and there is ambiguity as to who is/was a real human. The difference is that Ash is a robot with mechanical insides.
Amen.
