"They don't advertise for killers in the newspaper. That was my profession. Ex-cop. Ex-blade runner. Ex-killer. "
I'm going anyhow, and taking my chances in line. (Crazy, isn't it?) It's about a five-hour drive from here, but it's worth it, even if there's the slightest chance of getting a ticket. Is anyone else going? If so, I say a Bladezone meeting may be in order in L.A. if anyone's interested. I'll be getting there around noon, but beyond that I don't have any plans other than standing in line and hoping.

My Supervisor at work surprised me with two tickets for it Thursday night. He was gonna go himself but couldn't. Kinda made up for all the hard times he gave me.

Anyway, it was great. They actually cut a new reel to show because the orginal directors cut is out of circulation. RS over saw the work.

In the talk after word Scott droped a few bomb shells (they filmed it for possible use in they special edition DVD). Speaking of which, Riddly said the SE DVD should come out next year. He said he put the eye in at the begining because he liked how it looked. His explination for the simbolism behind the eyes, as he put it, "because the eyes are the window to the mind, or something like that, what is it?" He mentioned that they got the glowing eyes effect by putting a piece of mirriod glass in front of the lens at a 45 degree angle to bounce back the light at the retinas (though someone may of put this info down somewhere before)

He also told the story behind Roy's speach at the end. To paraphrase what he said, "Well you see, I litteraly had a gun to my head. We were already over schedule on the set and they were gonna kick us out of there in the morniing. I go into Rutger's trailer and he's in there with paper and pen's and stuff and I'm thinking 'oh great, this is just what I need right now' and Rutger says 'hey I've written this big long speech but I think I've distilled it down to it essence'. I take a look at it and it's pretty good, so it's 'right mate, let's have a go at it, good job, see you there', and then we went and shot it"

Riddly also had a slight brain fart, he kept saying that he liked Harrison ford's work that he did as "Skywalker". Maybe he was tired, it was mentioned that the night before he was up past midnight to get the reel ready for the showing.

[ This Message was edited by: Steyr on 2001-09-25 19:00 ]

[ This Message was edited by: Steyr on 2001-10-04 21:39 ]
In a mad world, only the mad are truly sane.
