Hey everybody, this is my first post here and I'm glad to see so many fellow Blade Runner fans still showing their appreciation for this classic

Anyway, I have a few questions about some of the smaller pieces of music in the movie that are not on CD's and don't even have names as far as I know. For instance...

(1) The beautiful music that plays in J.F. Sebastion's apartment when Pris sprays her face, and that whole scene when Roy comes in, and the next morning still at the apartment. My favorite music in the movie.

(2) Also, the mysterious music that plays while Deckard is inspecting the Bradbury building (before he is attacked by Pris).

Those are just two examples. My questions are:

(1) Is all of the music in the movie (besides the bicycle rider's music outside of Chew's, which has been credited to another artist) made by Vangelis? I really want to know if these smaller pieces are Vangelis (I'm almost positive that they are).

(2) Is there any conceivable way these small pieces of music do (or will) exist on CD, or the internet for me to get somehow? Do the have names?

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to talking to you BR fans in the future

[ This Message was edited by: Lost Painting on 2002-12-23 22:13 ]

[ This Message was edited by: Lost Painting on 2002-12-23 22:46 ]

Welcome! I don't know if the little pieces "atmospheric" or incidental, that you mention are included in one of the versions of the soundtrack, but there are many, and I wondn't be surprised.

Check this out:

http://www.bladezone.com/contents/film/production/soundtrack/i_dreamt_music/i_dreamt_music.php

Hi,

These cuts are available on some of the rarer Blade Runner soundtrack releases. One of the best recent private releases is the Esper Edition, which contains both these cues (This was released just a couple of months ago and thus not included in my article.) On the release, the tracks in which you expressed interest are called:

Morning At The Bradbury
Deckard Enters The Bradbury

There is more information concerning this release at:

http://perso.club-internet.fr/stephane.vidali/bresper.htm

You might be able to find those tracks on one of the file sharing services.

Regards,

Bentley Ousley

Thank you very much for your kind responses

I'll check those links in a second here. Anyway, I still hope to see a new revised Blade Runner soundtrack come out that is official, it would be nice to have. I would hope that it includes ALL musical cues in the movie, the "Morning at the Bradbury" music is just so heartbreaking and atmospheric.

Here is a link I found for a petition for a new BR soundtrack, it would be very helpful if you could take a minute to sign it (already has a lot of sigs). Go to...

http://www.petitiononline.com/la2019/petition.html

petitiononline.com is a good site to go to, I also signed one to get Ren & Stimpy on DVD(great childhood memories).

Oh BTW, I am not 46 as I wrote on the petition, I just signed several times and kept switching ages(hope they don't weed out the fake sigs!).

Thanks again.

[ This Message was edited by: Lost Painting on 2002-12-25 00:23 ]
