I love Blade Runner's design esthetic. Love it. I travel a lot for work, and when I'm on plane flights, I've redesigned several pieces from the film (signs, prop photos, etc).

Well, I've got another business trip coming up and I'm running into a wall. Any suggestions on things from Blade Runner that can be designed on a PC? I've been thinking about the newspaper the Deckard reads - I think I can pull enough detail off of screen captures to redesign it with some accuracy.

Any suggestions?

[ This Message was edited by: BenMund on 2002-02-28 06:25 ]

Have you tried your hand at various vehicles? From spinners to ground cars to garbage trucks...

There is the blaster...

And I wouldn't mind seeing some decent computer screens, such as when the Spinner takes off. Sure, it was good enough in Alien, but 20 years on and we would like something a little more sophisticated. Well, I would anyway.
Thanks for the suggestions...

Are talking about replicas of the actual screens in the film, or "new" ones that fit the sets?

New screens that perhaps fit better with current perceptions of SF tech. I'm not going to argue for change to the movie itself. But, quite frankly, the screens looked old-fashioned even in 1982, (the year that Tron was also released).

Something prettier, sleeker, more info, etc.
An Owl!!!

ok...ok...maybe not an actual "artificial" owl per se, but a SCREEN SAVER with one that looks like Tyrell's owl perhaps? Possibly interactive?

"Like our owl?"

A while back, Gary Willoughby created an owl with a voice chip in it that said "Do you like our owl...". I don't know if he might have some pictures kicking around....
