Lol!<BR>Not surprising that they tried to achieve brilliance by copying a good movie! <BR><BR>Tally of "initial creativity" now stands: Blade Runner: 1 George Lucas: 0<BR><BR>Paul

I went to the new Star Wars with my brother (not a BR fan). There was a part showing industrial wastelands on a city planet, complete with spouting columns of flame, and turns to me and says "Y'know this reminds of that movie.... Blade Runner". <BR><BR>BR 2, Lucas 0

Well let's not get mad at them for copying, let's praise them for complimenting Blade Runner by using visuals that are tried and true. Remember also, alot of the same visual effects people worked on both so it might make sense that there are a lot of similarities and after all, how many different cityscapes can you possibly think of anyway?

You're right. And after all, I DID think those Star Wars flame-spouting industrial wasteland shots were awfully well done....

That scene on Coursaunt was so oviously taken from BR that it was either a homage to BR, or a blatent rip off.

As Perplex posted on the newsgroup:<BR>-----<BR>I just picked up the Art of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and<BR>was quite happy to see this:<BR><BR>"We were going down to street level to see a Coruscant we'd never seen before.<BR>George threw down the gauntlet when he said it'd have to look better than<BR>BLADE RUNNER"<BR>-----<BR>Obviously it doesn't, but George himself clearly is in awe of Blade Runner and is desperate to come out of its shadow. Didn't succeed of course...
