Does anyone have any theories as to why Deckard would call up Rachael and invite her to have a drink with him at Taffy's when he should know that her presence outside of the Tyrell complex would be illegal?

If he was beginning to have feelings for her by that time, why would be want to risk her life like that?

In DADOES, Deckard wants Rachael to help him with chasing the rogue N6s - to better understand their motives and psychology. They wanted to make sort of business - he will have sex with her and she will "take care" of Pris Stratoon, who was actually from the same batch as Rachael and looked exactly like Rachael.

Deckard may have felt bad, the way he treated Rachel at his apartment earlier.

I can't find a solution of why Deckard would call her out in the open like that. Obviously, Bryant and Gaff know that there is a replicant that was working at the Tyrell Corp, but did they have a file on her like on the other replicants. Could Rachel be special design with no file? But. then again Gaff probably has a file on her since he drove Deckard for the VK test on Rachel earlier, at Tyrells, and Gaff already knows Rachel was a replicant at the end of the movie.

Maybe Bryant and Gaff don't want to spoil the relationship (Deckard, Rachel) so Deckard can finish his task, Rachel dosen't pose an immediate threat so they let her live.

It is a good question. Technically, one would expect that Tyrell has a special licence or something to allow him to have such experimental reps within the Tyrell facility as long as they stay there.

So, do we assume Deckard is knowingly ignoring this? Probably. He knows she can manage to get around town and perhaps part of the file he read showed that she had been allowed to go about as she pleased to add to the illusion she was an "ordinary" human?

And then Deckard is getting horny as well, isn't he.
