why that esper "beep" in the zhora scene??

why that esper "beep" in the zhora scene??

seems to be used to simulate deckard walking on the broken glasses..

I don't have the scene in front of me to watch, but if it's the same beep & sequence I'm thinking of, I thought it was meant to represent Zhora's 'heartbeat', and which ends as she totally ceases to function. As far as the beep relating to Deckard's footsteps, I've never thought of it that way, but it's possible.

Sounds to me it's the policeman on the left side of screen, kicking aside a shrade of glass whilst approaching Zhora.
