That should be basically correct. It could accomodate about 5 000 000 people. And since there are two pyramides, Tyrell Corp. should have up to 10 000 000 internal employees (but it's possible that their family members and guests live in the buildings as well). With such manpower I wonder why they need small external contractors like Chew and Moraji to develop parts of their pets...

They have lots of flea markets in those pyramids, not to mention the sarcophagi of past Tyrell heads. They need to outsource for cost and space reasons. That, and they do appreciate a man who loves eyes.

Who is Moraji?

I thought one of the richest corporations, if not THE richest corporation in Solar System and possibly beyond, can afford it's own best organ designers inside. It also helps to keep secrets from competitors' industrial espionage... Chew looks like a small entrepreneur who can do eyes for artificial animals but not for high-end artificial humanoid lifeforms. Of course he's a believable part in the film narrative - rogue reps have easy acces to him.

Moraji was a dermal designer in the BR game, another small contractor of Tyrell like Chew.

The perception may be that Chew is small time but he is on Tyrell Corp's payroll, somehow...... Maybe he is Tyrell Corps way around certain laws and regulations. Especially if he has illegal reps running around. How would they hide that from the auditors at the IRS???????

Might also be a form of outsourcing.

Actually think more of how Syd Mead was used by the studio to make BR. He is one of the best at what he does and works pretty much out of his home. He was hired just to do a few small things but ended up working much more on the movie over time. Many of the "best in their field" people will not stay under the umbrella of a large company, because they lose their controll of what they do. They will however still do contract work for the company on a piece by piece basis. Maybe Genetics could end up being a cottage industry as computers were in the 70's and 80's.
