I Make Your Eyes!

My apologies to all if this is a duplicate thread. I did a quick forum Search and didn't find another similarly one but you never know.

Take a look at some of the essays located at

http://scribble.com/uwi/br/off-world.html

especially the one called "Eyes in Bladerunner" by Thomas Karantinos. While I don't agree with all he says and there may be an outright error or two in there, I find his essay interesting.

I certainly noticed the overall eye theme. As a fun aside, note that musician Gary Numan (a self confessed Phillip K. Dick fan) had a very Bladerunner-esque eye on the back of his second album ("Replicas" of course). I had not however previously noticed that both Roy and Leon tended to kill by pushing in their victim's eyes. It is tough to speculate on whether or not Scott or Fancher had the same deep meanings in mind as those put forward in the article. Regardless it was interesting reading.

Any thoughts from the forum members more educated on the movie than me (which would be just about all of you, LOL)?
